Is it just me or is there no 2degrees voicemail notification, on the iPh4 at least.

I get the "you missed a call . . ." from 202 but that doesn't indicate whether a VM was left or not?

If you missed a call then they didn't leave a message I think. Otherwise you get told there's a message.

I have actually tested it now (#fail on my part) and found that a VM results in a "flash" message from 202 eg 1 click and it is gone forever where a missed call results in an normal SMS that remains in the 202 thread. Can this be changed so they are both "normal" SMS as it is very easy to clear the flash one without realising.

In testing just now I got the VM one but I didn't get the missed call one both times I tried.

A flash SMS you say... it's not supposed to be. And it comes up normally on Ye Olde 3GS. Must be an iPhone 4 thing?

It strikes again! (I don't get VMs that often)

Last night I missed 2 calls (VMS left for both) and a SMS. Same deal, 1 flash message saying I had missed one of the calls, not 2 messages or indication of having missed 2 calls. No mention of VM having been left. Called VM, 2 messages waiting for me :-)

Are you able to look at implementing the VM notification "flag" (see below) that Telecom NZ use? Or does 2deg's system not support that? I am happy to be a guinea pig for any sort of solution or verification testing :-)

We could support it. The reason we don't is because the way it should be handled by the handset is not standardized, so they all work differently, and, mostly, not very well. That's less of a problem for Telecom, because they already have to do an extensive amount of testing to ensure stuff works properly on their network, being 850MHz and all, so they can have minor tweaks made to handle that properly on all their officially supported handsets.

My wife uses an iphone4, on 2Degrees and when somebody calls and leaves a voice mail message, she gets notified of the missed call, but despite having all the settings required setup in her iphone, she doesn't receive any separate voicemail message notification (she was on Vodafone a month earlier and didn't have this issue)

Also, I know 2 other iphone users (1 x iphone4, and 1 x iphone3) who have also recently changed from Vodafone to 2Degrees, and now they don't receive voicemail received notifications either (whereas on Vodafone they did)

Does anyone know of an easy fix? Is there a dial-in code that enables this feature?
Surely it can't be that complex?

Needing help please as this is very frustrating and costly having to dial into the voicemail number after each call to see if any messages were actually left

Same here. My wife had about six weeks worth of voice messages waiting for her before she clicked as to what was happening. It would be fantastic if 2degrees let you 'opt in' to receive the VM notification like you do on Telecom and Vodafone.

Going slightly off topic, it would also be awesome if you could select your own threshold for auto top-up. Having it at $2.50 seems to mean that if your balance is between $2.50 and the value of your particular add-on (in her case $6 for the 50MB national datapack) the add-on won't auto-renew.

I don't understand the logic behind telecom being able to do this but 2degrees cant. I too can confirm that the sms is like a flash message, but it just sits in a convo down the bottom and does not get the same piority as a standard sms.

I just encountered this thread which might explain why my wife with her IP4 on 2D never knows if she has VM or not.

I just also checked on my Nexus One. If somebody leaves me a VM, then I get a SMS from 2D and the SMS icon lights up in the notification area. I did notice when I was on T-Mobile in the US on this phone, if somebody left ma VM, then the VM icon would show in the notification area so I am assuming this is a carrier dependent feature.

I too am also suffering the same symptoms.  I'm on a 3GS running IOS 4.3.2.  There are also a few other things that are annoying about the VM/missed call notifications.

The other day I got a missed call with a VM, a SMS from 202 was received. I go into my messages and instinctively click on the most recent message (at the bottom of the list) and return the missed call.  The person on the other end is all confused as they said they had not called me.  I go back into the messages from 202 and notice they are not listed entirely chronologically, but split into VM notifications and missed call notifications.  Surely it would make sense to simply list them most recent at the bottom of the list?

Also, when I get a missed call from somebody and receive a notification from 202, it displays the number who the missed call was from.  When I was on VF, it would display the callers name it they were on my contact list. I know the work around is to click on the number to return the call, and if they are on my contact list their name will come up.  All the same, it would be better if the name was displayed if the phone knows the number.

Hi all, we've poking around and we think we may have a culprit. So: a survey.

Anyone who is experiencing this issue, do you always delete the voicemail notifications from 202 or just acknowledge them and then forget about them?
