NZCrusader: Hmm, bit disappointed really.

Was more than originally indicated in earlier posts.
Also was one of the first to email in, yet have not had a reply.

I think I will probably pass.

Was aiming for a package of POTS + VDSL unlimited for $120.
Considering our usage is under 500 GB and Telecom's VDSL + POTS  500 GB package is $129, I thought it would be on the mark.

Will just stay on ADSL2+ likely.

they did say further up they'd be adding around $15 onto the current plans for vdsl...

unlimited adsl is $99
$99 + 15 is $114

even if they do charge more than $15 extra for the VDSL on unlimited, its not likely to be more than telecom charge me thinks.

you might even get your wish of $120, that's what i think they will do.

pure speculation here, i didn't get any juicy details in my email that i hadn't read here.

We pay $111 for POTS + ADSL2+ AYCE currently.

Suppose the new cost is calculated at the minimum...

109 + 15 = $124.   (If current unlimited plan only has $15 added)

The post by Chris clearly indicates they are looking at considering the cost a bit further for unlimited.
Also back in August they stated $10 increase, so this outcome could be quite a bit more than originally stated.

Its fine and all, I suppose some people are willing to pay more and thats fine.
I am on a budget as have other things to pay for, so only willing to spend so much.

they have an 'unlimited one' plan for $99/m and a 'unlimited plus' plan for $109/m

you could always downgrade to that, i assume the difference is how much shaping of p2p they do at peak times.

*Insert big spe*dtest result here*

Slingshot: This is what I've got for the Naked plans:

To make sure the user experience is flawless on VDSL and Fibre, we will be launching with the bundles first to make sure there are no issues for our customers. If the launch goes smoothly we will add Naked plans very soon afterwards.

Oh great, those on Naked ADSL plans and wanting naked VDSL will have to wait?  Seriously Slingshot, WTF??  We had to wait all this time to get "some" info and then you let us know you're not launching (whenever that may be) with naked plans, why does that make a difference?

Snap could have had my business 3 months ago but I waited out of loyalty for Slingshot and now find I have to wait for a second launch.

- VERY disappointed Naked AYCE customer.

I was very disipointed in this info. if I knew this moths ago I would have been gone.

Snap offer free downloads from 1am - 7am if you get one of their datapacks on VDSL. I queue larger downloads for this time of night and for our household it's pretty much just as good as unlimited. :)

Can you tell us where they have this in the T&C or website about the 1am to 7am?

Just saw that, but you have to buy an additional data block..
so if you only have a 100Gb and don;t buy a data block then this does not apply

Sure does! If you have an addition data pack, then 1am - 7am is unmetered ^RO

Hmm its a bit sad.

This was talked up a bit, and the forums here clearly showed there was demand.

Slingshot have been great in the past (I remember the original 250 GB offering, when everyone else was only doing 80 GB etc) and were first to the game.

BTW I still have not had an email reply.

Snap have also just released their plans for 50/20 UFB. $90 for 100GB + $15 for an extra 100GB. Also includes unlimited between 1am-7am (as above).

For those that did not receive an email, this is what I was sent:

HI [Name]

Thanks for the interest in our new VDSL and Fibre plans.

At this stage our VDSL plans will replicate our BIG bundles (www.slingshot.co.nz/bundles) with a slight price premium of around $15 for each. Could be slightly more for unlimited plans due to the amount of data people tend to consume. They will include a heavily subsidised VDSL modem, and a free VDSL Mastersplitter and Master Jackpoint installation.

We are still working on finalising the pricing for Fibre, but can tell you they will be some of the most competitive prices in the market (and not a massive amount more than our standard broadband plans).
[ENDS]

To be honest I was looking for Slingshot VDSL naked unlimited for anywhere between $100 - $115 a month. Considering I come off contract from the ADSL variant of that plan in a week, there are better alternative competitors' plans than whatever Slingshot has suggested their plans will be priced at. Can I expect VDSL naked unlimited broadband to be offered by the end of November?

Slingshot, define early November? let us know what is causing the delay of your VDSL plans? or your probably next statement would be early next year?? :-(
