i was told a few days ago on twitter they had no plans and no trials at the moment, but that they would keep me in mind in future. might change to snap when their reduced pricing comes out.

Now I have got a more automated way of clearing the seedbox out on schedule I might just move all that to 1-7am on the snap and get rid of the slingshot. Full time job means I cant really use the internet over those times so the performance hit wont really affect me.

CallPlus/Slingshot Mark Callander told NBR this morning, "CallPlus will be deploying VDSL services from our own exchanges in the next few months and we will also be wholesaling Chorus VDSL services where we do not have coverage."

I had been with slingshot for a number of years and I finally decided---- enough. They are very quick to promote new products/services plus trials that are never ending and often the delay is beyond belief with no communication.

One example: Slingshot was very quick to state being one of the first to bring fibre to us (small section in auckland only). They are still trialing it and can not give the consumer any estimate as to when it will be available nation wide. A slingshot member on their forum posted a comment (not me) "we are treated like mushrooms". The moderator/s are kept busy at times with frustrated consumers.

Very often, their statements are out of wack and it's no wonder people move on to another provider.

Slingshot is a shadow of it's former self.

Yeah, I'm going to jump over to Snap once I see the new price adjustment. Slingshot is just falling behind on their competitors too far for my liking.

i do like the carryover data though, but 150GB/m on snap vs 100GB carry over on slingshot should be enough

Hey guys,

We are intending on offering VDSL some time over the next few months, this is about as much information I have on the subject unfortunately.

If you are interested in changing providers...I can most likely offer you something to retain your services. So if you are interested in staying, PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers,
Ben

You could try your luck with this by calling us on 0800800123, go through to New Connections --> Broadband.

Hurry up Slingshot I have already got a master vdsl2 splitter installed and now awaiting a vdsl2 service, now that its at a cheaper wholesale rate wouldn't this be a great time to allow ur customers vdsl2 service and as I'm a current slingshot customer I want faster speed as fibre isn't available in my area yet. Or should I join snap internet who already provides this service

Yup, I'm also waiting for what Slingshot can offer in terms of VDSL before I decide to leave. I have no care for UFB until 2019 when my area gets upgraded.

Can anyone tell me if I'd get faster speeds with these stats?

Thanks

With 35dB attenuation, I'd expect you would be too far away to get VDSL. That's a pretty good connection for the attenuation though.
