Well we're into mid-november now. Yet another deadline missed.

While I admit I have no clue as to what goes on at an ISP, surely the marketing team would've been working on these 'plans and offers' while the testing/rollout phase went on. Not entirely sure why we'd be waiting on them now.

Oh wait, yes that's right.. the deal with Mega was probably seen as most important.

Yeah, come on Slingshot, announce it, even if it's available later. At least that tells us whether it's worth waiting for. The news so far, earlier in the thread, hasn't been great.

I was just reading the SS forums and came across this from yesterday:

"We plan to have something out by the end of the year. Last whispers I heard in the office was a late November target :)

I would adjust expectations for VDSL services to be launched by the end of the year judging by comments made on the Slingshot forum and Slingshot's facebook page.

The thing is, most companies go into a black-out/brown-out period over xmas and new year. Usually they only run a skeleton staff which means nothing is really made live in case of problems. A lot of customers also aren't home, meaning even if they did go live with it, it would be a flop anyway because not many people would be around to take up the offer.

They either release it before December (or very early December) or you won't see it until next year.

Imo

From the Herald today:

Slingshot makes late entry to ultra-fast broadband market but aims to have cheapest rate.

Internet provider Slingshot will undercut rivals on price when it offers customers ultra-fast broadband in the next fortnight as competition in the fibre market heats up.

Slingshot, which has about 10 per cent of the household broadband market, will introduce fibre-based internet services on December 5.

That article is stupid. All the prices quoted are from Slingshots ADSL plans and Telecoms Fibre plans. It doesn't compute.
