Hi all,

Great news!! The Android 8 upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is now available over the air and allows users to enable WiFi Calling.

Enjoy!

^POB

Thanks very much for the heads up @2degreescare.

My S7 Edge is now running Oreo with WiFi calling active now. It all went very smoothly.

I bought a parallel imported Galaxy S7 for my wife in the weekend. Downloaded and installed the latest Oreo 2Degrees firmware from Sammobile, and she's up and running with WiFi calling, and ASB virtual credit card, just like me with my original 2D supplied S7 Edge. Too easy.

This no longer works from note8 upwards however.  the CSC for the later phones can be a little hard to change.

@tripp Don't the later phones you just flash 4 files using Odin instead of 1? I did the S8+ easy and it's the same as the Note8 4 files

You can flash any firmware (as long as its for that model) however it does not mean the CSC will change if you flash the 2degress firmware (NZC).  With my note 8 I was able to get it onto XSA however trying to get it onto NZC by flashing their firmware did nothing (even after flashing the CSC file).  It seems from the note 8 upwards they changed the way the CSC can be changed.

Like my current s9+ CSC is xsp but flashed a DBT firmware the other day (yet my csc is still on xsp).

Is there a way to force wifi calling to switch on? We are in a marginal area for service and often have no bars and wifi calling isn't active for some reason - although this is random and sometimes it works, other times it takes about 15-20 minutes to start and then disconnects itself. Using an iphone 7 with all latest iOS updates and 2 degrees update (32.1). Wifi is via a timecapsule plugged into a Spark wireless broadband modem. Even connecting to the Spark modem does not change whether wifi calling activates. Have just switched to 2 degrees due to the wifi calling and really need to resolve this issue before the boss throws all her toys out of the cot

@kneemick I think the issue will be the Wireless connection you are using for the internet access, Ask Spark to assign a static / public IP to your internet connection and see if that helps

@sxz Did 2D sell you the LG G7? I have just looked at the 2D website and it looks like they don't even retail LG handsets

@Linux Thanks for the reply John, only problem is Spark are doing their usual and wanting to charge for it. Already paying $165 a month (their new $100 plan is only available to urban customers lol). Any other suggestions that may not incur a charge?

Thanks again

@kneemick Get a fixed line connection is really the only other option

It should still work fine even without a static IP. I have used it just fine from an iPhone tethered to another iPhone over mobile data. For the purposes of testing because I didn't have any other Wifi handy while doing my service development, but still. The main requirement is that whatever NAT and firewalling you use doesn't break IPSec.
