RunningMan: With 35dB attenuation, I'd expect you would be too far away to get VDSL. That's a pretty good connection for the attenuation though.

Thanks, I thought that might be the case from what I'd read on Geekzone.
Yes speed was half what I get now, until coffebaron came around and dealt to the wiring Smile

+1 for Slingshot VDSL2.

As soon as the plans are available, I would be interested in changing.
While im happy on Slingshot AYCE, more potential DL & UL never hurt :)

That is until Riccarton is upgraded with UFB  (Hurry up enable, customer is waiting here :) )

Come on Slingshot, Telecom have announced their VDSL plans and they're very good. Trying to hold on and wait but you're making it hard....

Also keen on VDSL seeing as there is no unlimited UFB plan as yet.

Hey guys,

According to my-higher ups we currently don't need anyone for VDSL testing.

I would assume that this would be advertised or announced if we are planning on trialing VDSL with any larger trial groups.

Regards,

Slingshot Team

I wouldn't hold your breath about it being ready within a month. They'll announce the plans and won't offer it for several more months after that (a la UFB).

Snap VDSL now includes free wiring and connection with POTS line for $95. It includes 100GB data and further options for more data with free data between 1am-7am.

Bye bye Slingshot.

not sure why you would want a pots line though, voip is so much better! also cheaper if you use caller id  etc

Cellphone is better than pots line too, Not keen on any forced bundling of an obsolete landline with my internet.
