With Fibre you have NO choice but to sign up with a contract, that's part of the Government Roll out agreement with the ISP's and that contract they have isn't going away any time soon, it's about the only down fall of Fibre, but I'd rather Fibre (So much faster) than standard ADSL/ADSL2+ the contract also say's if you move house and there is no Fibre Cables installed then YOU must pay to have them installed as you had a free install at the last house but the reconnection is free if your still in contract if not them you also pay for that, and that's not going away anytime soon.
But once you have fibre you can't go back to copper as the copper line is removed from the premisses if it can be removed, it's also removed from the exchange, if by chance they can't remove it from your premisses and down the line you want to return to Copper based BB then you also have to pay for the exchange to be re-wired.

starspanglenz: Ok So I want to go from Fibre30 $99 per month to Fbre30 $95 per month, same service the only thing that has changed is the price, the service is the same, the quality is the same, the phone number is the same, so why do we have to sign a new 12 month contract for "downgrading" it's not bloody downgrading FFS, it's the same service, same everything except the price is $4 cheaper, how is that "Downgrading" it's NOT, downgrading would be me going from "Firbre" to ADSL, ADSL2+ or VDSL or god forbid Dial up!
I also see there is a huge LACK of Billing/Technical/Customer Service Training in the Philippines.

Whilst writting this I was put through to "April" in Accounts who I was told would be better suited to let me know bout this, she said changing from the $99 plan to the $95 plan will not effect my plan the same contract will stay in place and will still end in April 2015.
She's set me plan to change on the 23rd to Fibre30 $95 per month, I'll be calling back a week after that to check the expiry date of my contract, if that has changed someone will get an ear full!

So....all good then?

Regards FireEngine

All god now but it took a while to find out if it effects my contract, I was told it will, then told it won't then told it should do, but I've changed to the same plan and will check next moth if it effected my contract or not, April from Accounts & Billing has set it to change on 22nd-23rd and said it won't effect my current contract
