Aredwood: Check your PPP username. If it is simply "username" instead of username@snap.net.nz speed profile changes don't apply properly. I found this out the hard way when I moved from 100/50 to 200/200 I ended up with 100/200

This issue of profile not being applied properly seems to have hung around since forever. I experienced it myself when changing from 30/10 to 100/50 a couple of years ago. I wonder how many customers are impacted and don't even realise.

Good thought however I've always had the @snap.net.nz in the username

I have a fritzbox 7360 and just upgraded to the gigabit plan. do I need to change the settings under " Connection Setting" for Data throughput? because I am unable to put enough digits in the field.

My speed tests are maxing at 380mbit up and down

https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5691071400

Edit. I just updated the firmware on the fritzbox and it allowed me to put 1Gb into the data throughput field.

And result after updated firmware it's the same?

if so it might be router hardware just can't handle that much throughput pass NAT.

With mine (and yours may be a different issue) basically I just have to wait as it appears there's still some work that 2d need to do at each of the handover points to enable 1g download

May be the case but 2Deg we're pretty sure it was on my side yet they wanted to log a case to Chorus and make me pay a fee unless it wasn't on their side. lol...

I had the same problem when going to 200/200 .. only had 100/200 after about 3 phone calls got to the right person at 2deg who fixed it in 2 mins

Well that was fun..

Made it through to their Tier 2 team.

Apparently they don't set a profile for Upload and have no ability to do so (Chorus Managed)

They do have a profile they set for down speed.

As a test he changed me back to 30 down, confirmed that worked and was getting 29 on speed tests, he then flicked it to 999 i re-ran speed tests and the tests reported back to 200.

Factory reset, same behavior.

Made me go across the road with my Router to my brother who is on gigabit and test it there.. 870 down on speed test.

Quite clearly not an issue with my Router and they're stumped, but also confirmed gigabit is definitely rolled out and available at my address

Sounds like they're going to send Chorus to take a look and I have to accept the risk that if Chorus find nothing wrong i'll have to pay the call out fee.

I will be pissed if Chorus find nothing wrong, the problem is on 2Degrees side and I still have to pay, wonder if they cover the cost then? Only fair right..

Edit: They've logged the fault with Chorus and I won't be charged either way.

And here...200 down, 430up.

Happy to give it some time to come right, not exactly crimping my style at the moment, and to be honest it was the increased upload speed I was mainly looking for (was on 200/20)

 Chorus came back no fault.

2Degrees determined issue is definitely on my side and that my 'modem' (router) is not capable , even though its been tested and confirmed it can do so without issue across the road.

Understand it may be a provisioning issue and just not complete yet, but 2Deg are certain it is complete and that there is a fault on my end.

They are sending me a router next week to test
