Hi there

just wanted to get a clarification on this upgrade.
I just got connected recently and actually first connection to the cabinet in the area.
Customer services informed another friend of mine that although recently connected i.e. today, that although on 30 he will get an upgrade to 100 for the monthly fee.
Are we saying that all current subscribers to the 30 offer are going to be upgraded as well to 100/20 even if connected after July 1st ?
Is 100 going to be the base offer ?

Cheers
Manu

Sorry about that! I have asked the guys to check again... Let me know how you get on in the coming days.

Hello Quentin, I PM'd a week ago and haven't seen speed increase either. Any ideas? Many Thanks. laughing

The work probably hasn't been done yet, but have you tried turning everything off (router/ONT) and on again.

Hi guys,
Apologies for the delay, we parked manual migrations because we are just about to go live on the automated migrations - and these will include all the people that PM'd me.
Sorry again for the delay!

Hi Quentin,
Thanks for your reply. This is great. Do you have an timeframe for it? Is this something you need to do in BillPlus or at NOC side?

Hi,

Long time reader first time writer.

I'm the new product guy at Slingshot - we've had a few internal changes.

We are going to migrate every 30/10 customer to 100/20 - it will take a bit of time to do so though - there is no price change.

I'm just waiting for the final success confirmation from our IT and Networks testing and expect to begin migrating about 100 customers a day shortly.

Any geekzoners that haven't already been manually moved to a 100mbps plan can go to the front of the migration list of course (just PM me).

New fibre customers who are waiting on a connection will unfortunately get connected on 30/10 (that's what we ordered) and then we will move them to 100/20 after they're connected (half a day turn around hopefully).

Thanks,

Wayne.

Pretty cool address - doesn't look like it's capable of fibre yet though ;)

Just your slingshot username or account number is super.

Hi Wayne

Quentinreade posted this on the 30/07/2014

"Good spotting guys, you will be on the 100/50 plan at the moment due to the way it's been configured. This will drop to the 100/20 sometime in August.
Hope you are all enjoying the boost...
Brand and Communications manager
Slingshot"

I have just done a test (NZ local), which gave me 87/37.
It looks like I am still on the 100/50 plan.
Any time frame as to when I (and others like me) will go on the 100/20 plan?

One may say that I would be better off on the 100/50, instead of the 100/20 but I have found that torrents from overseas, have not improved over the 30/10 plan I was on.
It was mentioned that the 100/50 plan is P2P throttled/managed but the 100/20 is not.
Can you confirm if that is so?

Cheers

Trevor

We'll pop the "Geekzone Special 100/50" customers to 100/20 in the first day of our migrations (so soon); along with any Geekzone 30/10 customers who PM me.

If you like I will post here when we have the migration schedule confirmed.

No difference in 100/50 vs 100/20 in terms of how we manage and prioritise traffic.

Cheers
W
