I am really starting to regret my decision to stay with Orcon......

My speeds are back to 130/200 today.

Another day, still no progress, still getting 130/200.

I am assuming that I am not going to be charged for 200/200 speeds?

In this scenario, am I able to break contract to change providers without penalty I wonder?

The speeds are more or less best effort so the answer to that is really a no. Just sounds like to me they've got handover congestion.

50-60% of advertised speed is not really best effort is it? Considering I get 210 up consistently and only between 100-130 down and my internal network can handle 500/500.

To me 'best effort' would be 180+, the speed I am missing out on is more than most peoples full connection speed, is that unreasonable?

edit: I figured I would call enable to see if they could see any issues using my install ref number, they won't look at it unless it is raised as a a fault by Orcon, so looks like I really have got nowhere :(

The uniformity of the speed test results point more toward an incorrect profile / port configuration rather than network peak congestion.

That last international speed test result to San Fran looks really good, if you consistently get those results, I wonder if they've assigned all your traffic into the high priority CIR queue which somehow maxes out at 133 Mbps or something.

That's the conclusion I have come to with my testing and info I have received, just trying to convince Orcon/Enable that is the issue I have now.

Yep, called and been through all the required tests with the support line over the phone and ran and submitted the diagnostics from the supplied tool last week. As well as all the suggested tests etc. from this thread.

I guess I am waiting for Orcon to pass the potato to Enable?

Not since last Friday, there was no indication from Orcon that I was meant to chase it up after all the information and tests were done? Do you think they will not action it unless I chase it again?

I my case, they charged me and would not agree to any sort of credits.. I had the same issue.. I was only getting 30mb when paying for a 100mb plan.. 6 months later it got sorted with a firmware update to my router.. Orcon did not want to budge on any sort of credits due to me.. I gave up in the end.

I feel your frustration..

no but if you keep enquiring why my speed is not what it should maybe you might get onto someone who knows how to fix it instead of just waiting

not taking away from the fact they should have sorted it already

Well it has been 9 days since I gave all the requested test information to Orcon, no follow up, no progress at all.

Was on 100Mbps, was paying for 100Mbps was getting 100Mbps.

Now on 200Mbps, paying for 200 Mbps and getting 100Mbps.
