Hi Guys, given we are all one big happy family now, are there any plans to put this upgrade in place for orcon customers too?

Orcon and us have pretty separate marketing and operational teams -- would pay to ask them direct. Next group drinks I'm happy to ask somebody over a beer though ;)

I'm happy to say that our beta testing has been successful today, I'm doing some pilot tests tomorrow for the 4 Geekzoners that PM'd me (you know who you are!). If this all looks well we will start large scale changes and customer comms next week.

Now obviously the limitation is getting out of NZ ...

Just a heads up, there seems to be some invoicing issues with the upgrade. Those of us who have been moved to the 100/50 plan temporarily will find themselves being billed $129 for it

. My workmate tried ringing the CSR team over the weekend to get this changed to $89 but the CSR didn't know anything about it and couldn't help. I havn't had my bill yet, but its due in a few days and i suspect ill have the same issue.

Anyway to get this resolved through you Wayne or Quentin?

Thanks for your patience with these problems - if you have been overcharged and you *don't* receive a call from our billing team in the next day or two (I have a list of you all), please let me know via PM (or is it DM?).

You will all be moved to the correct plan/pricing this week so the problem should go away. Thanks for your recent help testing these new plans btw; super handy.

I noticed that I was billed $129, instead of $89.
I called the 0800 number and the lady I dealt with went away to talk to someone, came back & said she would credit my account the $40 difference and that the error in billing will be corrected within two weeks. No problem with that, I just paid what I knew I owed.

She did point out that, at the end of the 12 months of free upgrade, I would have to pay the $129 if I wanted to stay on the full speed fibre.
As I have found that my torrents have not had a download speed boost, from the 30/10, I can see no incentive to stay on the 100/50 or 100/20, when the 12 months are up.

The lass also said that slingshot does not limit torrent speeds in any way and I could only download as fast as the people were uploading the torrents.
That being said, there will be plenty of torrent seeders, within the whole world, that will be full speed fibre, both up and down.

As my download speed went from 30 to 100, I would expect at least a double of torrent download speed. That has not happened.
My torrent download speed has stayed exactly the same as what it was on the 30/10.

I am not grumbling, just posting an observation.... :)

This was indeed the deal, it was a free upgrade for a year.

However in saying that as you say they no longer sell the 30/10 plan so i think you will find we will be offered the 100/20 plan come the end of the "free" year anyway. A year is a long time however, who knows what plans maybe out by then.

The way I interpreted "free upgrade" was that it would be the same price for a year, but after that the price may increase at a similar rate to Chorus' wholesale charge increase.

This week or next we will retire the 30/10 plan and not offer it to any new customers (Chorus still sell it)
The 30/10 plans will be replaced with plans at 100/20

$69 40GB
$79 80GB
and $89 for unlimited

Additionally we will contact all our 30/10 customers and move them to 100/20 automatically.

There is no plan to change prices on the 100/20 products.

There is no time limit, or special conditions associated with the automatic movement from the retired 30/10 plans to the new 100/20 plans.
