Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to look at the latest offering from Slingshot/Igloo?

http://slingshot.co.nz/products/igloo/about-igloo/

$99 per month includes:
50GB broadband
Homeline
Igloo box for free
11 channel pack free (worth $24.99)

Is that good value for money?

Regards
DI

Telco TV partnership shakes up the market

The world’s largest Kiwi-owned telecommunications company, Slingshot, has partnered with IGLOO, New Zealand’s low cost pay TV operator, to bring kiwi households some of the best value on homeline, broadband and pay television packages, with bundles starting at just $99 a month.

Slingshot and IGLOO have created a “whole of household” bundle with rates that are sure to shake up the market.

Slingshot General Manager Scott Page says, “We are determined to offer kiwis the best deals on their homeline, broadband and digital TV. We’re taking on the big players in the telco industry who seem to be charging more for less.

“Our focus is on delivering outstanding value to suit New Zealanders.  So far we have had a fantastic response from existing and new customers alike in response to our new partnership and bundle offer with IGLOO, which is very pleasing.”

Slingshot and IGLOO are offering Kiwis a homeline + 50GB broadband + IGLOO subscription (11 premium Pay TV channels on-top of the standard free channels) + a free IGLOO box (RRP $199), for only $99 a month.

Customers will also have access to additional IGLOO services, including a large range of on-demand movie rentals to purchase from the comfort of their own home and a selection of live pay-per-view sports events on IGLOO’s FRONT ROW sports channel.

“We’ve partnered with IGLOO because it is a great alternative to other Digital TV options. It has premium content at a great price point, so customers can get the best of both worlds,” says Page.

IGLOO Acting GM David Joyce says Slingshot is the perfect partner because both companies have a similar approach to business.

“We both want to deliver great value. IGLOO is about giving Kiwis another TV option in the Digital Switchover. We are delivering not only free TV channels but also 11 premium channels, a huge stack of VOD titles and selected pay-per-view sports events, all at a great price. And with the Digital Switchover upon us, now has never been a better time to introduce a third option to New Zealand.

“Our partnership with Slingshot introduces more options for consumers. It’s an exciting proposition which allows us to pass on even bigger savings to our customers with this great total-household bundle.”

  1. What is included in the bundle?
For $99 a month, consumers can get;

  • A free IGLOO box (RRP $199) when you join the bundle.
  1. Who can get the Slingshot & IGLOO bundle?
This exciting new bundle is available to all new and existing Slingshot and IGLOO customers and is available right across New Zealand. It is however only available to customers in the UHF signal coverage area and requires a UHF aerial.
