ping is so...unstable over 300ms some time even up to 900. Why?

Being attacked by the look of it. The guys have worked hard to mitigate the effects, not entirely successful by your comments here (everyone's), but better than we have before. Of course the attacks change but at the end of the day we can't hide the DNS servers from the internet and these latest attacks spoof customer ip addresses....its an arms race for sure.

HI Guys

Looks like it was a DDoS attack against a customer connected to our Northcote datacenter BNG. This overloaded the interfaces, which resulted in your packet loss.
