I'm planning to change to snap. I currently run a small server with person email and other services. On both my current and previous ISPs the dynamic IP addresses they issued changed so infrequently (current ISP only once in 2 and a half years) that I didn't see the need to pay extra per month for a static IP. Instead I was happy to deal with the short down time whilst my DNS updates took effect, on the rare occasion that the address changed. Are the addresses snap issues similarly stable, or do they change much more frequently and hence would necessitate requesting a static address?

As much as these conspiracies are entertaining me, I'm glad that BuffyNZ is sane. Our IPv4 addresses are sticky (ish) so if you experience a brief drop in connection you may get the same one. If you reboot your modem though that is generally long enough that you would get another one.

If your IP is changing multiple times a day then you probably have an issue with your line and you should call us and chat :-)
