I noticed this during the week - all my tablets and smartphones connect to our Snap DSL Service at home and none can access Twitter timelines... I haven't tested Twitter on a browser as our desktops/laptops connect to another network.

I've seen reference to this on Twitter as well:

It's a bug with FritzBox's 6.20 firmware. Below is the translated page from AVM. (found mentioned on Whirlpool)

After FRITZ! OS update with individual application no Internet access possible

After installing FRITZ! OS 6.20 certain Internet applications (such as Twitter streams, SSH connections) can no longer or only very slowly to access the Internet at one connected to the FRITZ! Box WLAN device.

  • The Internet applications concerned may be used on a per network cable connected to the FRITZ! Box network device.
Wait 1 Coming FRITZ! OS

We are working on a fix and will provide a FRITZ! OS update for the FRITZ! Box it as soon as possible. A specific date for the update we can not call. However, if a new FRITZ! OS update is available, you can at any time in the service area of avm.de check. Note: Forthe latest downloads for our products can be found in the Update News on our website.

Workaround

! Until a new FRITZ OS update is available, you can install a beta version, this error has been fixed:

 

     

  1. On the Internet browser (eg Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari), the address ftp://service.avm.de on and go to the folder "Beta" and then in the sub-folder for your FRITZ! Box model.
  2. Download the beta version for your FRITZ! Box model on the computer.
  3. Extract the zip file on your computer (eg on the desktop).
  4. Install the beta version (image file) described infobeta.txt your FRITZ! Box as in the.

 

Note:You can always return to the regular FRITZ OS for the FRITZ! Box install!. Information on this procedure, see the infobeta.txt.
