For a few weeks, I've been finding that some sites aren't loading for me via my Orcon connection. Examples:

https://www.wikipedia.org/
http://www.engadget.com/

Do these fail for any other Orcon users?

I ask because I'm unable to access these sites via either my PC (Windows 10. Ethernet connection) or my cellphone (Android. Wifi on the same network). However when I flip over to mobile data on the phone, I can access the sites just fine.

Other sites (both https and http) all work fine. It's the same ones that reliably fail.

Chrome's error response is (failed) net::ERR_TIMED_OUT (timeline shows that it makes a 30 sec attempt with zero response, before returning this error message).

Before I contact Orcon, I wanted to check in with you guys, to see if you can think of any troubleshooting I should be doing. Maybe it's something I've done? I can't really figure out what would cause selective site access issues across 2 devices like this.

Here's what I've covered so far:

-- Tested in Chrome, FF, IE10 + Edge, Opera.
-- Nothing blocked in my hosts file.
-- I can ping wikipedia.org fine (188ms avg).
-- I can tracert wikipedia.org (final hop is to ipv6 address 2620:0:863:ed1a::1, which fails if I try to visit https://[2620:0:863:ed1a::1] directly via the browser.
-- I have had my Orcon modem powered off for a couple of hours, a couple of different times (in the hopes of being allocated to a different pool/connection).
-- I just noticed via ipconfig that I currently have an IPv6 IP address, which I think is new for me. Could there be an issue with the way some sites interact with this? I wouldn't imagine so, especially not for Wikipedia.
-- I have the shiny black Orcon Genius modem (on ADSL), which I don't think I can modify or update. So I haven't taken any action there.
-- I did have some vpn software that I used super rarely for logging into work, but I've uninstalled it to try and be 100% sure that Orcon is handling my traffic directly.
-- Have run a Malwarebytes scan, as well as a stock Windows Defender scan.

Big thanks in advance if you have any suggestions. :)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. You got me on the right path.

Final resolution was to do a factory reset on the router. I guess it must store some dns addresses there as well. Now that I've re-set, I can access those sites no problem.
