Hi all, I would like to switch from 2degrees to Orcon (fibre), but I am unsure whether the home phone will work due to my house network setup.

My fibre point is at the garage and currently I have a fritzbox 7490 in the garage. I then have another Fritzbox in the living room, connected to the fritzbox in thr garage via ethernet. it is the living room's fritzbox that is connected to a phone.

Now my concern is if I switch to Orcon, and thet provide a modem router to me. Is it difficult / possible to configure the routers so that the phone will work?

Sorry I am not very tech savy... thanks

Put the Orcon router in garage. Patch phone port from Orcon router through your patch panel to a socket in the house somewhere to plug your phone into.

super12345: Hi CoffeeBaron, that is a possible option as long as thr ports are compatible? RJ45 vs RJ11? I dont know what modem router Orcon gives out

Yes they are compatible. You just need a couple of these: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/CABDNX0091/DYNAMIX-2M-RJ-12-to-RJ-45-Cable---4C-All-pins-conn
