Noticed this the other day when reviewing my FB logs.

08.07.20 14:11:18
Internet connection established successfully. IP address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XX, DNS server: 202.37.101.1 and 202.37.101.2, gateway: 111.69.7.65, broadband PoP: SNAP-65

22.07.20 10:36:25
Internet connection established successfully. IP address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XX, DNS server: 111.69.69.68 and 111.69.69.69, gateway: 111.69.7.65, broadband PoP: SNAP-65

Should we not be using ns1.snap.net.nz and ns2.snap.net.nz anymore? Reverse lookup resolves to new DNS servers to a .dynamic.snap.net.nz. Interesting.

Anyone else notice this?

Hi All

We (2degrees) have been moving our broadband customers to our new dedicated resolver servers over the last couple of weeks and hence you will be seeing new DNS servers handed out to your modems.

Thanks for pointing out the missing records, they have since been sorted out so you should see the following:

resolver01.2degrees.nz IPv4 111.69.69.69 IPv6 2406:e000:c07::1

resolver02.2degrees.nz IPv4 111.69.69.68 IPv6 2406:e000:c07::2

The new resolver servers should provide even better performance and resilience than our previous setup for customers and integrates better with our CGNAT setup used for the bulk of residential customers.

Any posts are personal comments and not that of my employer
