Switched to 2Degrees broadband (100/20). In the conversation with the agent I asked if I could receive the Fritzbox 7590 instead of the standard 7530. She said they would have to ask for approval and would come back.

Later in the afternoon I receive a negative response:

"Unfortunately we're not able to send out the 7590 modem as this modem is specifically for the 900/400 plan and is not offered otherwise.

We'll send out a 7560 modem to you. In comparison to the performance, it will work just the same as the 7590 models."

Within the hour I replied that in that case I preferred the standard 7530 --- but next day I had notification that the modem is on its way, turned out to be the 7560.

I am not happy, considering that 7560 is a discontinued model, lacking wifi6 and usb3.

Comments? Anybody with experience of the 7560/comparison with 7530?

So you signed up to the entry level broadband plan at bottom dollar and expect to get the top router available with a RRP of around $380 excl GST if you were going to buy it yourself? The router you've been provided is totally suitable for your needs and is more than other ISP's provide on their bottom tier plans.

You did not get duped and you're dreaming...
