I'm considering getting Freeview HD, and I currently have a VHF/UHF combination aerial. I'm in a "very likely" reception area for FVHD, however when watching FTA channels from the aerial Maori TV and Prime are both snowy and in Prime's case, sound is not so good. 1,2,3 and 4 are all fine.

Will FVHD reception be any good, or does this mean I'll need a new UHF aerial? Or does my current setup need tuning?

Thanks for your help.

Well its hard to say, Best chance to to get your Freeview Stb then if you cant get signal you will then need a new aerial

Only do this if ur in range tho, otherwise it may be a waste of money.

Thanks boby55,

I was thinking of doing this, so I'll just get the cable and splitter needed in the meantime. Dick Smith are having a 15% off sale this weekend so I was hoping to buy all required equipment tomorrow but I guess there's no point buying a new aerial if it's not needed.

Only problem is I'm going to be using a TV tuner but my desktop PC is currently out of action due to a hard drive RMA with the now liquidated C1 Shoppingmall :(
