The Free to Air are available uncrypted directly from the Telstra Clear cable. By splitting the cable before the cable modem, one goes to the modem and one can go to your TV and you can watch all the Free to Air avaiable on Freeview without a cable box. So the Telstra technician put a splitter for me and now I want to view the Free to Air coming out of the Cable into my MythTv and a PVR-150. Is the signal supposed to be analogue and fully visible via the PVR-150? When I do a scan, a get about 7 or 8 channels but only 2 are visible (C4 and Prime). Does anybody have any experience with Telstra cable and Mythtv without a settop box? If so please let me know how to proceed and which pci card should work (I do not want ot get a DVB-C card and hoping that the PVR-150 will work somehow).

You are scanning with it set to cable yeah?

And you know that they will be gone soon so you would be better spending your time getting dvb-t working off air instead eh?

And just because they're there, doesn't mean you can do what you're doing. You better not get caught. Only TelstraClear provided equipment is allowed to be connected to TCL's network. If you connect anything else you are in breach of your T&C's and risk being hunted down.

I guess the Telstra Technician should not have told me that information! Since it does not work anyway, I will remove the feed to my MythTV. I am getting a Freeview dish installed this week and will use my DVB-S Nova card instead.

For that solution, you'd need to tell the card to ignore the known channels, as used to rebroadcast the analogue signal on their network (in a nice 1, 2, 3, 4 order as well).
