All,

Has anyone come across a way to set the default audio stream for TV3 on their STB?
I'm using a JCMatthew DVB-T01 with HDMI to the TV, but whenever I change channel to TV3 it defaults back to stream "2/2 English/Normal" which is so much quieter than "1/2 English/Normal". edit: All other channels have only "1/1 English/Normal" as the audio stream option.

I understand one stream is in Dolby Digital, the other not, so I have tried to disable any mention of Dolby in both the STB and the TV. However, no success.

Please, no negative comments on the JCMatthew unit, I know it's sub-standard, but it is what I have and money doesn't grow on trees

Any experiences with this problem, and ideally a solution, gladly accepted!

I haven't played with one of these particular boxes but since AC3 is a better audio codec the box probably assumes most people want this rather than AAC as the default.

There may not be a lot you can do, the best bet may be to contact the distributor and ask them if there is an option somewhere.

Just tried using SPDIF for the audio out, no difference.

S/PDIF isn't going to change anything but it will give you AC3 5.1 surround sound from TV3 for programs that support it. This is the reason most boxes normally default to AC3 over AAC.

Yeah, was simply hoping that the audio level would be similar between TV1/2 vs TV3 by using the digital link.
Looking to replace the JCMatthew unit, just posted a question about the Zinwell ZMT-640PVR.
