joshhill96: Here's a firmware for the MTV3600TD customers who wish to rename the programme names garbage. In addition, it includes a final attempt at fixing the reboot at wakeup issue. A customer has been testing this firmware over the weekend and has not seen the crash yet.

So far, so good; I haven't had a reboot on wakeup yet.
My EPG UI seems to sometimes scales to 30%. It still works but I've got to stand quite close to the TV to read it. Other UI (eg magic menu and recorded programs menu) are normal size. Other times the EPG is normal size (without changing any configuration).
My EPG seems quite reluctant to load when the recorded programs menu. It will usually load if I press the Magic button and then the EPG button.
JefWright:
Some substantial issues arising with 6.08 beta:
Still no reboot on wakeup. That problem seems to be resolved.
Audio volume is appreciably lower on playback than live TV.
Often significant unresponsiveness to user input, particularly while recording and playing back. A lot of the time this makes the MTV unusable, completely unable to rewind or fast forward and skips sections of playback.
I've reverted to 3.18 (with 1min/8sec FF/REW patch).
kimxk:
I've had the unresponsiveness as well, and have reverted to the 3.21, but I'll try the 6.08beta2.
JefWright: Is there a 6.08beta2 available? Where?

Please tell me which channel you are referring to, what is your setting of Audio Bitstream, what is your audio output (HDMI TV, or SPDIF connection to AV amplifier, etc.)

Hi. My Sony TV is connected to component output (because I had some trouble with intermittent HDMI negotiation).
When running this port of MTV3700 software will my MTV3600 support a 4 GB hard drive?
Will it save to a network drive like the MTV3700?
Are there any other features that might be worth trying (or not)?
wklie: Here's a summary of the major differences among recently released MTV36000TD firmwares:
6.08beta2 = 6.08 beta + fix for FF/RW http://www.magictv.com/nz/downloads/mtv3600_6_08NZb2.zip
6.08beta = Some MTV3700TD features back ported to MTV3600TD + fix for wake-up reboot
3.21 = 3.20 + fix for wake-up reboot http://www.magictv.com/nz/downloads/mtv3600_3_21NZ.zip
3.20 = 3.19 beta7 + EIT Huffman Coding decompression http://www.magictv.com/nz/downloads/mtv3600_3_20NZ.zip
3.19 beta7 = 3.18 + booking fix for Nelson area
** IMPORTANT: Switching between 3.x <-> 6.x firmware REQUIRES a factory reset after upgrade.
JefWright: Does the EIT Huffman Coding decompression fix the broken program names and descriptions in the EPG?

For those who try this 6.08beta2 firmware, please see if its behavior is closer to firmware 3.18/3.20/3.21 regarding FF:
