Here's a firmware for the MTV3600TD customers who wish to rename the programme names garbage. In addition, it includes a final attempt at fixing the reboot at wakeup issue. A customer has been testing this firmware over the weekend and has not seen the crash yet.

Magic TV MTV3600TD Firmware 6.08 beta:

This is the MTV3700TD firmware 6.07 beta 6 back ported to MTV3600TD, so it has:

- Add iPhone/iPad/Android remote control app support (the MTV3600TD needs to be connected to the WiFi router as the mobile device does; if the WiFi router has a feature to "separate" a WiFi device from other devices it needs to be turned off)
- Add rename function for recorded programmes
- Add audio delay setting
- Add built-in volume adjustment (Settings -> Audio -> Volume; can also be controlled via remote control if the volume buttons have not been programmed)
- Add graphic prompt for radio channels
- Add favourite channels
- Add support for XBox 360 and MCE remote control (needs to be enabled by using Magic TV remote or the remote app first)
- An experimental change for the wakeup reboot issue

In case there is a serious issue with the 6.x firmware, please downgrade to firmware 3.20.

So far, so good; I haven't had a reboot on wakeup yet.

My EPG UI seems to sometimes scales to 30%. It still works but I've got to stand quite close to the TV to read it. Other UI (eg magic menu and recorded programs menu) are normal size. Other times the EPG is normal size (without changing any configuration).

My EPG seems quite reluctant to load when the recorded programs menu. It will usually load if I press the Magic button and then the EPG button

Often significant unresponsiveness to user input, particularly while recording and playing back. A lot of the time this makes the MTV unusable, completely unable to rewind or fast forward and skips sections of playback.
I've reverted to 3.18 (with 1min/8sec FF/REW patch).

Hi. My Sony TV is connected to component output (because I had some trouble with intermittent HDMI negotiation). I have had low volume with DD bitstream on and off. I have encountered the low volume on TV3 and Prime. When I select Enhanced volume the level is restored (and a bit more besides).

Hi. My Sony TV is connected to component output (because I had some trouble with intermittent HDMI negotiation).

I have not observed any audio anomaly in testing HDMI audio output and analog audio output. Those who are not using an AV amplifier should leave Dolby Digital Bitstream as disable.

However, it should be pointed out that TV3 has two audio tracks, Dolby Digital and AAC. They will have slightly different volumes. On playback of a recorded programme, the audio track defaults to the one that was chosen when it was recorded. If you performed factory reset after upgrade (as instructed), the live TV may default to a different audio track, causing different volumes between live TV (affected by factory reset) and recorded programme playback (not affected by factory reset).

Next time when you notice such a difference, please take note of which audio track you're listening to in both live TV and recorded programme playback, by pressing the Audio button.

When running this port of MTV3700 software will my MTV3600 support a 4 GB hard drive?
Will it save to a network drive like the MTV3700?
Are there any other features that might be worth trying (or not)?

MTV3600TD is and always will be restricted to 2TB.
It does not have the network sharing feature between two or more units of MTV3700TD.
The free remote app function could be useful, especially when the physical remote runs out of battery or becomes faulty.

Great to see a fix for the rebooting problem!
It has been 2.5 years since I reported it and you said to upgrade to 3.18!
