Product of the month: Power line Adapters

Can you put a switch/hub between the adapter and the TV so that the TV and the STB can be connected?

Correct, at my home I have about  4 adapters running with one coming from the modem and the rest to the devices, only needs one adapter to feed from the router to the other adapters around the home.

Indeed, I only have ADSL at my Auckland home, so the power line adapters work well, When I am up north (where I am now) it has VDSL and quality of streaming is really good on WiFi  so its a vise versa for me :)

If this feedback is superfluous please let me know.

I have been trying my family's new Satbox S8200 over the past week. I really think it would be good to have sort of a miniature guide that I can peek at while watching a programme.  I imagine this interface is the same across multiple models.  I know that there is something like this that can be opened with the [OK] button, but I find this one to be quite lacking.  Firstly because one has to select channel with the [RIGHT] button before one can see what's playing, and one has to back with the [LEFT] button before one can scroll down to another channel. It really needs to work with left/right changing the time, and up/down changing the channel, or vice versa.  Secondly I am not sure that it works to have it as a side banner, it would be far less obstructive if it was along the bottom of the screen.  Yes, I am probably just saying I want it to be laid out more like Sky, but there is a reason for that.

Afternoon,

Some really good suggestions there, We are working to make the user experience easier for our customers and the S8200 is the first port of call for ex-SKY customers who have left their platform.

Nothing has been announced yet but we have placed the info banner on the top right for some new features coming in the future. A Mini Guide would be a great idea and I will make sure I pass this through to the software team.

FreeviewPlus is now available on Freeview Satellite via approved devices. Today Freeview has flicked the switch on the satellite platform and as promised the satBox S8200 was designed to have FreeviewPlus when it comes.

You shouldn’t need to do anything to get FreeviewPlus unless you are not connected to the internet via WiFi or through a wired connection. Product manuals will all been updated to reflect FreeviewPlus via the iManual and the PDF manuals which you can ask me on request or via our website.

Connected to the internet and not seeing the FreeviewPlus banner or when you press red the guide won’t show? Please restart the device and try again.

For more information about FreeviewPlus visit freeviewplus.co.nz. Feedback / Suggestions about FreeviewPlus will need to be sent through directly to Freeview

Have been having trouble problems with the S7070r when connecting via HDMI.

Some brands of HDMI cables and older HD ready televisions will not display anything.

Never been a fan of Dish after a bad experience with a STB many years back. However have just bought the T2100 with Freeview plus. Certainly a lot better than before, but my problem is getting it to recognise my WD Elements HDD. Rear USB won"t see it at all, and the front USB finally recognised it and did the EXT4 format. Tried to record a 1 hour show to test it but it only recorded for 17 minutes, with a message about a power problem. Even the part that did record was lagging and jumping continously. A message did say my HDD is slow and recommends a faster HDD.
So my question is WHAT do Dish recommend for recording?

is it a USB powered drive or one with a separate supply?
