USB powered, not seperate. Worked perfectly on my Ultraplus STB, and I have another WD attached to the Ultraplus which works perfectly too. Just the Dish that spits the dummy

Hi, It should just work like that as Hard Drives like that should work, the algorithm is the speed of the device however in saying that the USB ports on our units are not USB 3.0. Will have a chat to our team and determine what our developers consider acceptable devices, I have used a hard drive like yours and its works fine on my device, records the show as it should.

livefornow851: Have been having trouble problems with the S7070r when connecting via HDMI.

Some brands of HDMI cables and older HD ready televisions will not display anything.

The HDMI output module might be faulty as almost any HDMI cable should work, has this been happening since you got the unit or has this been happening lately

a 3D rated HDMI will likely work pretty good , but its a bit odd .  if the cable were 5m long it might be pushing limits. all my hdmi are 1.4 and 5m with no issue fyi

Josh-Having persevered with my WD HDD the Dish box finally recognised it, formatted to EXT4
However, when recording an hour long show, it will only record for around 20-25 minutes and stop.
On playback the picture lags & jumps, video & audio are out of sync. Totally useless.
I'm up for purchasing a new HDD, but thought I would get an Emtech 64G flash drive, as I onlyy record odd bits & pieces. Do you know if a flash drive will be OK for recording? Have you any hard & fast rules for the best gear to record on a Dish T2100?
Cheers

Any news on a firmware update for the Magic tv 3600 to fix the multiple issues? ... It's been over a year since the last 'fix'

3.18 was the most stable imo , if you have that saved , give it a shot

I got feed up with our MTV3600 and consigned it to the bedroom as a backup recorder. Purchased a Panasonic PWT550 and while it isn't as intelligent in how it records concurrent recordings it hasn't missed a beat in the 2 months we've had it.
