you do realise you could ask for a 3-4min FF to be added and maybe they might add it in the future

OK, had this set top box for ten months now. Software has been dodgy since day one causing constant grief and requiring almost weekly reboots to resolve issues. Thank goodness a software up date came through a while back and things settled down to reliable hum.

However in the last day or so, something has been done to the software again. The good ole EPG button function that brought up a weekly easy to use guide has been replaced with a next to useless quick menu thing that does it absolute best to infuriate. Worst of all there is now no way of recording anything in the future or recording series, it will ONLY record what is being watched, like having an odd VCR. The user manual does not cover the this ribbon menu junk so a large chunk of what was useful is now gone.

Is there any way to get rid or that darn ribbon menu thing from the epg button and go back to the reliable and user friendly week menu??????

Very frustrated

I am also very cross about the change to the Freeview Plus Guide.  It is nowhere near as easy to read or record from as the old guide is.  I know that the old EPG can still be accessed under Menu>Guide>MHEG or something, but I would like to be able to access the old guide just by pressing the EPG button like before. Please change it back or give me the option to change it back. I really don't like the Freeview Plus EPG, it's just not up to scratch.

Also finding the new guide frustrating - and second the lack of ability to record series - at least it is not obvious if it is there!

Hi guys, I agree everyone, the new guide is too frustrating to use, please go back to the old guide or incorporate some sort of option where we can choose what happens when we press the epg button, PLEASE!.

Nope, you can still get to it via menu, so it's not being pushed out. I hate the new epg, and by the sounds of it, so does everyone else.

I don't think so, the new epg is for Freeview on demand, so all the other Freeview decoders without Internet access would still be using the old epg. Is there anyone here who could clarify this?.

I have found the only way to get back to the old epg is to change my internet connection (unplug the LAN cable or change to wifi).

The epg then defaults to the old one

Hi Everyone, we are getting large volume calls and messages about the new EPG change, The EPG change is due to a Freeview requirement, we have to follow these requirements and we understand this may not suit everyone. You can still access the old EPG under... MENU - EPG - MHEG EPG.

When in the new FreeviewPlus EPG though; select a channel and simply select/highlight a program you wish to record.
Instead of pressing the "RED" button to set a recording like before, press "OK" on the selected show you wish to record, then with the Record box selected press OK again to confirm the recording and it will then give you the option to record via a series or leave it as single.

This applies to the Satbox S8200 and any questions about FreeviewPlus can be directed to Freeview NZ. Thanks ^Josh

We are also working on making the MHEG5 Guide the default in the menu however are currently talking to Freeview about this, I understand that this isn't going to suit everybody.
