And I have to say Windows Media Center looks nicer...
To answer a couple of questions:
To the best of my knowledge NZ wasn't included in the BETA group. You can work the rest out... And yes its not that hard to find.
Comments so far
DVB-S - it gives you out of the box, the functionality that you previously had to use registry mods, and external guide captures to get.
IMO its not as stable as a modified DVB-S setup (which in my experience is rock solid). It is a BETA after all, however the funtionality/ease of setup is very good, even at this early stage. The guide works well, with 7 days worth of data captured from the EIT stream.
NZ channel support is still manual ie you must scan individual transponders (some interesting things in the default channels...), but this is very easy to do ie can be done from the couch and takes a couple of minutes. Guide setup is automatic. Channel organisation is improved, although you need to get rid of the aussie channels first. I also believe it has the hooks in it to support external card readers ie US DIRECTV support, although I cant test this at the moment.
Teletext works a treat.
DVB-T - looks well on its way but is very flakey at the moment. There appears to be an issue with the screen blanking - it looks like something to do with the MHEG data. Not lounge ready at the moment, but looks like it will do the job in a few months. Both video and sound work with the PowerDVD codecs.
It looks to have embedded MHEG support - but its to early to say what it will do.
It has embedded multi tuner support - which is easy to configure.
No HDDVD and I doubt Bluray - although I don't got no Bluray drive at the moment...
Theres a few other tweaks to the DVD player, and some interface revisions, but thats about it at the moment.

cranz: Ok, Fresh install of Ultimate last night.
If only I could fix this screen blanking issue :P
cranz: Yeah thats how I was running it last night, chewed through space pretty quickly though ;)
I also noticed a lot of Digital Text errors popping up when trying to timeshift/record so could well be the problem with it trying to overlay Digital Text over video.. Surely we can turn this off somewhere? *has a hunt*
cranz: I used UK (with the example postcode lol).
Haven't had a play with any configs yet - will try later tonight
RustyGonad:The DVB-S stuff is fairly obvious - its easy to see the OPTUS D1 files etc.
What country config did you use for tuning? ie I used Norway...

Any h.264 decoder can be used, PowerDVD7 will work so will CoreAVC. I would recommend PowerDVD8 however if you wish to make the best use of onboard decoding on your graphics card as PDVD8 is far superior to PDVD7 in this respect
Both 7 & 8 will decode the AAC streams however I find that Cyberlink's AAC decoding sounds pretty bad compared with the likes of Monogram's AAC decoder.. However I haven't figured out how to make MCE/WMP use Monograms AAc decoder yet..
