I haven't had that may issues with my 2200, however of late:

1) The unit can NEVER find the Update Server.

2) It's done some weird things like recording for extended periods of time 20+ hours, instead of stopping at the end of a show.

I will check to see if we are having a reported fault with the server. I'll pass the recording time issue to the developers to look into

Happened to be up this morning while box tried to do update check.  I am also seeing the "can not connect to update server" message

I have had my box for six months now, apart from some setting adjustments, and one switch off necessary to reset, I have had no problems. So all good so far.

Another issues ive just found, watching something via media streaming, and a program finishes recording and it pops up the message "recording saved sucessfully" and then it kicks you out of what your watching back to live TV. This really is unacceptable.

It seems that is the new alternative to the box locking up and requiring a reboot. I like it comparatively.. but hopefully it is a temporary measure now they know the reason for the lockups and have a major re write in the works.

how do you know they have a major rewrite?

I wish Josh was a bit more active like he was. Things seemed to get fixed a lot quicker. Havent had a update since beginning of November.

On a different topic, the update server issue appears resolved. Tried in the weekend and instead of being told the update server couldn't be found, it was something like no update file could be found.

i was saying , obviously poorly, that i hope now they have pinpointed the lock up issue and made it kick out to live TV instead, that they work on a re write to fix it once and for all.  If they had an easy fix it would have been done the first time . technically any change is a re write though by definition?

Hi Jase and Everyone

I'm sorry about the lack of updates and activity on here, Iv'e been working heavily in the background on other matters, I am the only one allocated to the online support base on websites so things may take a little longer than expected.

I have tested the server from various places and it seems to be up and running,

I recommend you register your device on our form here. this will allow you to receive emails when we release new firmware as well as help us help you when it comes to contacting our support base on the phone or via the support email as your details will be stored.

I am unable to open this database, so i can provide general support but I can always chase up a team if you contact me via PM

Thanks,
Josh

I have had an arialBox T2200 for a few weeks now; I purchased it with an eye to replacing my HT9200DTR.
Overall I find the T2200 OK, the main thing is that so far it has reliably recorded all scheduled programs.

The one thing that does really bug me though, is that although I have specified low power mode, it wakes up each morning (I think around 1000) and stays in high power standby mode all day until it does a recording in the evening; even if I turn it on from standby and turn it off again it doesn't go into low power mode.

@Josh, can the behaviour of the unit with low power mode set be investigated for future firmware updates; or at least spin down the disk when in high power standby mode - it makes no sence to me that the unit constatly spins the disk in and form of standby mode?

Cheers.

There is a setting to make it power down after a set time .. mine is on 3 hours and seems to power down directly after a recording on some occasions..dig a bit in your settings

Thanks for the suggestion Jimmy; I will have another pass through the settings this weekend to see if I can find it.

Cheers.

Correction for previous post:

@Josh, can the behaviour of the unit with low power mode set be investigated for future firmware updates; or at least spin down the disk when in high power standby mode - it makes no sense to me that the unit constatly spins the disk in any form of standby mode?

I can certainly have a chat to the team about this, if you need to share more please feel free to PM me with more details.

Update: I have just seen your recent post update, will talk to the team based on that.
