@joshhill96 can you please 1. confirm what the latest update should be for this box, and 2. update the product page for the box to have the latest firmware its currently 1 version behind. 3. is the update server for the box working?
i next to never watch TV one so cant say if ive seen the issue or not.
Christene: It may seem odd but is happening.
If you look further back you will see steps I have taken to try and eliminate the problem and diagnose it. Including factory reset and updating to the latest software version
It is also a new box so you'd assume setup straight from the box would work. Maybe it's the software update which I assume some existing people wouldn't have done.
I had the Issues from plugging in. Briefly disappeared but seems to be back. Nothing changed in my end.
Will get version numbers when I get home. Issue was still there late last night.
Given you've had problems from day one (including with the packaging), have you considered contacting the support team and seeing if you can get a replacement unit? I wonder if the one you've got has had a hard life up to the time of purchase...

everyone with the box should have the latest update as if the update server is working it should be pushed to the box automatically.

Hi,
Have a new T2200 to replace TiVo and is working well, but I'm sure I saw in this forum there was going to be a recycle bin for recordings.
Is there one? I can't find one, or find how to set one up if that's a requirement?
Also, can anyone tell me, does setting it to Timeshift for 30 minutes like TiVo did automatically shorten the life of the hard drive? By how much? I would love to have it on, but I'm unsure what consequence it might have longer term.
Does anyone know, if I set a series recording and the series finishes, does the box retain the wish to record the series when it comes back? Like Bones, Criminal Minds etc which disappear for a while, then come back. Or do I need to reset the series recording when it comes back?
Finally, some suggestions based on what TiVo had.
In the Schedule, would it be possible to show upcoming dates more than one at a time if I clicked into the show? TiVo could show a couple of week of upcoming recordings, and allow you cancel "only this show" or "the entire series", so that you could choose to skip a show, perhaps record on +1 or whatever, but not delete the series recording to achieve this?
Could the remote have a "skip" button? TiVo used to allow you to hit a button to skip forward 15 minutes, handy if you know what you want to see is 30 minutes into the recording, like perhaps a news show. Does anyone know if the Harmony remotes do this? If yes, which one would people recommend?
Thanks in advance for any advice, sorry if I'm rehashing an issue/question, this thread is so long it's impossible to track it all.
Christine.
No sign of a recycle bin I'm afraid, it's been asked for many times but not been forthcoming.
It also doesn't do very well at remembering that you recorded a series and picking it up when it comes back. Sometimes it will, but usually only if it's a repeat of the same series and only if it's not very long after the original one played.
Skip forward button used to be there on the old remote, just underneath the fast forward button, not sure about the new remote. But yes a Harmony remote has that feature.
I bought this unit last year and it has always had some sort of issue; I have searched the forum and find many of the issues my unit has experienced. The common response is to wait for a firmware update or factory reset...this has not worked for my unit :(
From the moment I plugged it in it had pixelation issues and it would take 3 to 4 restarts to correct each time it powered up, and intermittent pixelation on recorded programs and when changing channels.
When using playback ffwd or rewind the sound and picture gets out of sync and you have to stop and restart the playback frequently.
I upgraded to the latest firmware and did numerous retunes and factory resets, changed cables and had the aerial guy in ...no changes.
I have also found the epg/recording is not consistent and when recording a series and have the library in series view there is at least 1 episode which seems to go into the single recordings, yet it has clearly been recorded with the rest of the series.
It was a bit annoying but as it was in the bedroom it wasn't top priority.
BUT we have since got rid of Sky and the unit has now been moved to the lounge and is now used as the main tv source so these intermittent issues have become a problem.
Also the new issues which started a couple of weeks back are
Again checked all the cables, retuned, factory reset etc etc and still issues continued. Checked the TV freeview on the same aerial and perfect.
We had a couple of shows we really wanted to watch recently and recorded them only to find they were unwatchable as the pixelation was just so bad. Intermittent sound on TV one was a major and as well and as it was a week out from warranty expiration I have sent the unit in for assessment.
The unit is generally ok and offers a reasonable solution for the money but it still seems very clunky. I would expect the screens to work a lot better and be more responsive to the remote.
Will wait and see how the repair goes.
no time shif only works on the current channel, you need to manually record the other channel
Taniachch: Wow! Sounds like you love tv as much as me Christene! As a young widow it got me through, and have since discovered technology has come leaps and bounds and is fantastic for tv/movie watchers, but not so much for finding a nice guy! Haha, swings and roundabouts I guess π
not so much love tv. Just work in IT, so end up with laptops and computers that need a home. Bit hard to turn down free laptops and PC's so end up under a spare tv. Most friends and family have them either through me or a friend that got them cheap so gotta put somewhere.
the mini pc is great though, half the size of the dishtv.
its a hard life lol.
