I started getting intermittent audio on TV 1 a few days ago, and fixed it by putting shift on for a few seconds, and then playing the shift --perfect (but rather annoying when you keep forgetting you put it on shift, and only discover the next day...).  However, the firmware updated this evening, and it now seems to be fine.  Fingers crossed.  This, BTW, was the first problem I had with the T2200 over 2 years.  I'm very happy with it.

On a new box, it seems wrong to me that I get a completely black screen at random times when watching a program I'm also recording. Once when I hit rewind, once it just went black on my screen and only came back when the show finished recording. Both times got a message about a corrupted recording, but watched later, the recording is fine. You just can't get any channels to show on screen for the duration of the recording. So, obviously this device cannot record and play a show reliably at the same time. I looked and saw this issue long ago as well. This is not just annoying, but to me against the whole purpose of the device.

My mum who also has a box just rang me saying she couldn't watch TV 1 and was going nuts, same banner thing that happened on mine but mine wenr away.

Has anyone found a fix for it other than turning timr shift off, which works but you should be able to use time shift!

Jase2985:

well if you have tried changing the audio with time shift off, why not turn time shift back on and see if it still works?

i have zero issues with time shift, audio or bubbles etc and having it set as PCM. AC3 doesnt let me adjust the volume with the remote.

the issue is likely to be a settings issue on your end, and how the device interacts with other things (ie tv/amp/home theatre etc)

you just have to keep playing with the settings till you get something that works.

Seems it's not a settings issue. A few people have had it now and seems to come and or go with no rhyme or reason....

No settings changed that turn it on or off

In regards to the sound issue, DishTV advised to push the "Audio" button on the top of the remote, the setting should be 01/03, if yours is not then push the audio button until it sets to that. This appears to have fixed the audio issue for me that I was having on TV 1.

For the pixelation issues they suggested a filter on the end of the aerial to stop interference which they sell on their website, I will likely try this if I have further issues.

Hope that helps someone.

It's the banner and pop ups that are coming up. Not a signal issue.

Only happens when time shift is on.....

Hi Guys, is it the FreeviewPlus banner that pops up or one of our messages that pops up?

Have you made sure the T2200 unit has been updated to the latest version?

I had a mixture of both. At one stage it was the bottom freeview guidr. Made it unwatchable. Then I got the info bubble in top right.

I emailed video to support, but then mine came right for some reason. But my mums one started doing the same thing and went away only when she turned time shift off. But would be nice to,have it back on again for her (mine is now okay)

Yes, I had made sure it was up to date, everything was up to date, and we were getting both sound and vision problems from the device.  Also, the on screen display was unsatisfactory for us as well, very weird way of showing movies in series view, and too small a font/colours not nice.  We experimented, but for my older mother in law, nothing was simple/easy to read, and with the other issue of not recording correctly, we returned the box under the conditions of the CGA and have decided not to use the T2200 in future.  We're waiting to see if anything new comes out.

Thanks for the reply Josh, but I'll be unsubscribing from the forum.  Good luck to everyone else experiencing problems, I hope they get resolved.

Christine.

Apparently still happening to my mum despite turning time shift off. She'snot impressed as means it's unwatchable.... Any ideas of a fix?

Hi Christene,

Just had a thought, have you checked on your mother's T2200, that the release level is exactly the the same as yours?

If so then it can be the hardware or the aerial.

Try it at your place to see if it is the aerial, Try yours at her place to see if you "catch" the bug also?

Cheers

I haven't been there to see it, but was purchased about a week or two ago. After mine so should be up to date

She has since turned time shift on and off again and is now fine.

It doesn't seem to be a aerial or signal issue. I know it wasn't on mine as it happened on two different aerials, both of which have no issues with TVs, magic TVs and TiVo.

Also the fact it goes away most of the time when time shift is turned off.

It seems some sort of glitch in the system as a few people now have mentioned it. It's a shame as I like the box and everything else but shouldn't have to spend hours trying to get the thing to work. It should just wrk!

Mine seems to have fixed itself as I mentioned. Despite doing nothing. Just hope it doesn't come back!!!

The firmware itself won't be up-to-date unless its been updated after purchase. Is the box correctly hooked up to the Internet to pick up the firmware updates?
