Dear fellows I hope you have started a good week. I have just moved in to WLG and because I am tenant, I am looking to find an easy ,and cheap way to watch the NZ TV. I have bought recently a DVB-T USB (it connects to my laptop, I have attached its specification and its photo) for our home but I found out that there is no UHF coverage in that area (I checked Freeview nz web site). I have a satellite antenna as it is shown in the attached photo in my home. I am looking to find an easy way to watch TV without buying a TV set. I was wondering if you could give me any suggestion How I can do that. Any help is appreciated. Sincerely Mohsen

You can't use that, it's a different technology. You need a DVB-S decoder of some sort for satelite., not DVB-T

Something like that should work fine. (Never used one myself)

what you have wont work with satellite. You need dvb-s for satellite. DVB-T is for terrestrial (uhf) So look for a DVB-S usb dongle

Which one do you suggest and provide me with more options (channel)

Based on the Freeview website there is no UHF coverage but some of my neighbours have that kind of antenna.

lxsw20 pointed to the one on trademe you want. Just plug the satellite lead from the dish into that. Indoor uhf aerial wont work and you said their is no reception so satellite would be only option.
Dont know how it would work but could always try usb extension if too far from the satellite lead. Plug the usb tuner into the female end of the extension and the male end in the computer.

Failing that could always buy a network satellite tuner from overseas and use that.
