Confirmation from transmission provider Kordia as at 11:15am:

Wellington and Wainuiomata area UHF signal down due to quake.  Satellite signal and UHF signal in other areas are all normal.  Please see http://freeviewforum.co.nz/page/network-status for more information and updates from the transmission provider.

As the Kordia National Operations Centre is based in Wellington, there has been and we would expect some delays in getting updates.

Their priority right now is to resolve the outage and to keep their team safe while doing that.

Update: 12.38pm

A temporary generator is now operating at the Fitzherbert site in Wellington.

Therefore, the DTT service have been restored.

Kordia has restored full mains power to Fitzherbert transmission tower.  UHF reception to Wellington and Wainuiomata should now be back to normal.
