I have brought a few satellite decoders from https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk in last few years.. for holiday homes of friends and family. and I disliked MySky user interface, so I got my own PVR that was more responsive and customizable. Also got rid of Sky now.. just have freeview..

But I have noticed diminishing satellite decoder sellers in market and less models..

Are satellite decoders going obsolete, in the face of internet streaming?

There will still be a market for satellite decoders where there is no DTT and sub-optimal internet, i.e. baches in out of the way places, or just really rural locations. But many tvs have dual tuners these days so no need for the extra box.
