Hey guys,
One of my clients has had issues with their independent developer just not delivering and they are getting really frustrated. They have asked if I know of anyone who can take over so said I would ask. I have suggested, while more expensive a company may be better in terms of meeting deadlines rather than individual developers.

Anyone have recommendations on either? Fell free to PM me but I really need a number of good references (hopefully as posts) by established members of Geekzone.

Their system is a PHP/MySQL based on Codeigniter, they are upgrading from a crappy old MS Access one.

Maybe have a chat with Jeremy Rogers (www.jero.co.nz) - his rates are fair (Tauranga pricing not Auckland pricing) and he delivers good work.

I wonder if one of the overseas "farm out your programming job" sites would be a good idea. I forget their names.

A professional firm in Auckland/Wellington will charge you $1000/day+ for an experienced senior developer. A more junior but capable person independently would probably still be at least $400/day.

Only if you find a good one. I've used a few and it is hit and miss, and language can be a problem. Also there is often no warranty when using overseas ones, for ongoing support and problems, which you will get from a NZ one. You do get what you pay for, and for all we know, the OP may be having problems, ,maybe because they have chosen a cheap one.

Yea trying to avoid being in a situation of having to manage the developer and chase up etc. Kinda need a company to go from the business analyst side through to development. Someone at gpforums recommended pixelfusion.
