Well I'm fairly new to them but I see Datastor have a Symantec section on their website, it's not clear if they do licensing but the range seems fairly extensive so they could be worth a call...

Cheers, P.

Id like to know that too - I always found their hard drives to be well priced, quiet and reliable.

Well we tried to use the site again this morning for the first time since all the problems.

Its much faster, but still seems slower than the old site.

Latest issue, We have 3 new orders on our account which are not ours ! according to the CS guys, placed on the website.

might give it another week

Cheers

Lee

Loggin in and speed are one thing, being able to find anything and then have them deliver it or even know what you've ordered is a whole new ball park.

Give it another week, give it another month, or just go somewhere else.

Have just opened an account with PBTech, I dont know whay I didnt think of it earlier, I knew they were wholesaling I just assumed that they wouldnt be able to match Ingrams pricing - thanks Ingram you've taught us a few things about supplier/client rationalisation that are now paying benefits.

Has anyone worked out an easy way to navigate the hell that is the ingram website.. i want a decent spec HP desktop machine.. not a MT, something in stock, upgraded to 4 gigs of ram and will take an upgraded graphics card for some basic solidworks for a customer..

The old site i could do this easily.. see all the suitable machines on one page.. now i have pages of items, half of which say in the price field that they are unavailable.  but they still show up even when i select only show items that are in stock..  what a POS website..

Anyone know who else does wholesale of HP gear?  I know we have been putting a lot of business through express data rather than ingram as their website works.

Im serious, a few hundred desktop machines a year easy..

Correct. The two distributors in NZ for Symantec is Ingram Micro and Datastor.  Both are able to see the entire range of products.

Some other problems I've noticed:

Sorting items by price, either high-low or low-high, seems to just randomize the list.
Once you placed items in your basket, and then completed the order through checkout etc, the items remain in your basket???
Shouldn't it be cleared/deleted once the order is placed?
A lot of items have the price as 'Unavailable'

It would be great to change to other suppliers but we have a '20th of the month following date of invoice' account with IM and going somewhere else will mean a 'payment before goods sent' account for a while.
Or a small window like 7 day account.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Herein lies the problem with me also! Always a 'gotcha' it seems.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Try exeed www.exeed.co.nz they are the other HP distributor and that is pretty much their sole focus. Not quite as much stock held as TP but generally better pricing, more relevant bundles and up to date hp deals.

PS, their website also having gone through a recent upgrade does actually work although it still needs some work to get to what techlink used to be.

To be fair I'm getting same day replies from this e-mail address, I asked for the banner ads to be removed, or a subscription option like geekzone has so you don't have to see all the banner ads (they take up nearly half of the screen) Theres no option to remove the banner ads, but they have globally removed the top most banner ad.

I found this week that datastor's website has been running very very slowly... Perhaps they have had a massive influx of customers. Exceed's website is fantastic.
