Morning Gents,

Anyone else tried to even login to the new IM website? its up and down like a yo-yo. The staff in the call center are going loopie trying to deal with the volume of calls.

Looks like things didnt go well (as normal).

How come anything these guys do that moves away from "TechPac" jus turns to mush.

tCheers

Lee

managed to login after repeated attempts

site is way slow and my first impression seems hard to navigate the products etc compared to the old version

seems alot of the product sub cateogies have been renamed and merged as well

cant say i like the the new design so far, seems less efficent.

I agree the site is a little muddled, but the connection to it seems fine for me  on my Slingshot connection. Do a traceroute and see if theres a problem with a server somewhere

I think they need a serious server upgrade or something?? - its totally unusable in its current state.
I tryed searching for an old invoice (Sept 2009) - it took over 5mins to return a blank screen with no message *sigh*

Hate it!
Trying to browse through the products now takes too long as they have removed a lot of the catagories.
EG: You used to be able to browse to HP - Desktop Computers - Then you would see a list of all the different models of workstations and you could click on the model you were wanting to look at - Then you would get a list of that model and all the different options available for that model and it was easy to see if they came with an LCD screen or not.
Now you see all the HP desktops as one group (all 233 of them!) and you have to click on each one to see if it includes a monitor or not! (or at least hover your mouse over the title of each item to get a better discription.)

Doesn't feel like they did sensible beta testing, performance profiling, load testing, piloting the site with a select number of users...

They delayed it by a month too!
Just trying to place an order and it looks like the site has sort of gone down.
Can still log in and doa few things but all the products/vendors have dissappeared!
I also noticed that when I had an item in my basket there is an option to add and End User for each item/line.
I clicked on that and see that there is an end user setup in there already who I have never dealt with!

I gave up using it today after my post above.

Took $40k+ worth of orders to other suppliers.
I also told our IM account manager it was happening too.

I has a stsff member pop in and collect from Wiri, He was told they had produced all of Fridays orders and at the point had seen about 500 orders that morning (around 11:30am).

This rollout must have cost a mint in lost revenue/daily cashflow.

Cheers

Our work which is in the low hundreds in the original Ingram Micro account numbers BTW :) had 4 sales people unable to access it all day. Sigh. They don't even have a redirection page when the sites down, it returns with some JBoss error all last night while upgrading.

Tyler - Parnell Geek - iPhone 3G - Lenovo X301 - Kaseya - Great Western Steak House, these are some of my favourite things.

We Did an order of 50 Computers for a Local School which came to $37k+, Our Sales guys couldn't manage to get in to place the order in 30mins of trying so ended up using Synnex for the order instead.

So right here on this forum IM have lost $77k worth of orders due to there site not working.

What computers could you order from Synnex instead of IM?

Synnex are great.  Their responsiveness and levels of service leave IM for dead.

Wow, how long does it take to assemble 50 computers?  How many techs would you have to do that job?
Most I've done in one hit for a customer was 6 :(

I agree too that Synnex are way better than IM and I try to use them whenever possible.
Synnex just don't have a lot of the product that IM do.

Well theres, 4 of us here that can build computers which we will do over two weeks.

Now I wait for the Pallet of 50 Computers worth of partys and 50 22" LCD's

This is the Biggest Single Order we have done, With the previous biggest order being 33 from the same client.

I have to agree also, Synnex have much better service, but lack the Range IM have.
