After spending the bulk of 2011/2012 searching for an appropriate job to progress my career in New Zealand without any luck due to the unique tool set used by my current employer, I have decided to move to Melbourne in the next few months.

Can anyone recommend a good IT recruitment adviser or agency for me to contact before I move?

I'm looking for junior BA roles but my main concern is finding a job before my savings run out (1 to 2 months).

I've been in my first software development role (non standard programming language and in house build tools) out of uni for the last 5+ years, but my role has shifted to include business analysis functions in the most recent 2.5 years.

Thanks in advance.

Haha did you look me up on LinkedIn?

I would set firstly set up an email alert on seek.com.au to send you a daily email of all new listed BA jobs in Melbourne. I found that timing was important. Once an ad has been up a day or two, the recruiters often have a few good names and tend to ignore the rest of candidates coming in.

The big recruitment players seem to be Candle, Hays, Experis/Manpower, Talent2 (After Novapay, maybe avoid), SMS Consulting (avoid) and Robert Walters and . I'd get on the phone to them rather than just emailing in your CV. If they ask you to email your CV, get their personal email address, and follow up with them a couple of days later to get their feedback.

We have a contingent of BAs where I am now. I'm not sure if we have any roles going but if you want to flick me your CV I'd be happy to have a look and see what I can do.
