Okay I am not sure if this is even possible or if I am asking the right question.

We want to survey the entire school as to their home internet capabilities at home, i.e do they have internet, computer, tablet, which OS they use.

We want to avoid doing another paper survey as the return tends to average less than 70% and it takes an age to enter the data.

We were looking at using a google form and rather than funnel the students into computer rooms over a couple of weeks we were hoping there was some way of when students next login IE auto starts to the google form.  We realise that some students will just close the link without filling it out, but the same students would crumple the paper survey up.

So is this possible?  Before approaching the IT guy The DP and I would like to find out a if it is possible and be some suggestion as to how to go about it so he doesn't just say no out of hand (as he has done before).

about the system

windows 2008 server
every student has a unique login
about 200 student computers
about 50 teacher computers
no BYOD

cheers

There is a "Run on first logon" script that you can run
Or use a startup script that deletes itself
Add the below line to the end of ths script - just save it into the "Default User" Profile's Startup folder

Code:
del %0

Hmmmm
