We need the ability to save text threads to our NAS drive that occur between staff and clients In order to keep a record of correspondence to stop the current he said she said scenario. Is there an app that can do this that outputs the message into a clean and easily read document.

I currently use SMS Backup + to do similar. It syncs my texts to Gmail as emails that you can keep. It apparently will work with any imap based email if you don't use Gmail.

You could also use SMS Backup & Restore to do this. It will backup sms messages into a local XML file, which can then be automatically emailed to yourself or uploaded to Dropbox or Google Drive, or you can transfer it yourself however you like.

I used to use "Backup to Gmail". It syncs txts, MMS and the phone's call log to a nominated Gmail account. That way, anyone with access can see the txts more or less in real time - less any sync interval. That was definable. It was awsesome.

But now everyone I used to txt uses Viber and that app is utterly useless for backing anything up.
