Hi There!

Found this whilst surfing Engadget for MWC Coverage. I am mightily tempted over my Galaxy S!

Should be fully operational in NZ correct? Other than the 4G of course!

I have heard it's going to have an encrypted bootloader making custom ROMS difficult or impossible or very limited which is a big negative for me, but I also don't see anything else of it's ilk immediately pending.

NZ should also get this "4G" since it is a lie and they are calling HSPA+ 4G

We'll be getting the UK release version, which is sans 4G.

I'd be hesitant about getting this one until we know whether its bootloader is protected or not. If it isn't I may well give one of these a whirl (in addition to the SGS2 I ordered just this very second).

Definitely get the UK Atrix. Many posts on XDA report crippled HSUPA on the AT&T Atrix. They did the same on my Captivate until I flashed an HSUPA enabled modem. All Atrix owners report 300 kb/s max upload.

AT&T HTC Inspire owners are also reporting 300 kb/s max upload speeds. The only smartphone with HSUPA enabled is... the iPhone.

Sounds like my iPod Touch. It does 165KB max upload.....on wifi. But it used to do up to 14MB download on the original firmware.....but I haven't seen that for ages. The most iOS 4.x will do on the same wifi is 5MB.

I used to work for AT&T. Though AT&T today is another actually telco that bought AT&T and renamed the whole company AT&T.

An echo of when there was *ONLY* AT&T in the US.....about 35 years ago.

They have an eye to the bottom line...and customers can take it or leave it.....yeah. You could spell that with 8 letters. :-)
