Guys

My 2D Nexus 6P offer just arrived.
Looks like I didn't make the cut for the frost option. Only graphite, which I don't want.
Happy to PM my code to someone after deciding to go for Aluminium version from Google.

A shame that frost is not an option. Any chance the phone will be in stores before the 1st of Nov? I really want to have a play with it in hand before I drop $1079 on a phone.

EDIT:
I noticed the original post says:

  • From November 2nd to November 29th the 10% discount for outright purchase and the $10 per month over 24 months discount will still apply but some other details of Pay Monthly plans will change

while the e-mail has an asterisk at the bottom saying the offer ends on 01/11/15 (with no matching asterisk). Is this still the case?

Anyone else having problems with the outright purchase now that the link has been sent out? The link takes me to the product page, but I can't add to cart - the button redirects to an empty page with only the 2degrees header and footer.

My email came through at around 4.45 this afternoon (so about 20 minutes ago). It advised me about the supply issue with the Frost color I signed up for, and gave me the alternative option for a graphite - which I'm actually cool with as well. There's also a "Start order now" button which goes to a "Oops something went wrong" page.

I guess it might be a little premature as others haven't receive the mail yet maybe it's not setup properly.

2degreesCare: Hi everyone,

Thanks to Geekzone for supporting this 2degrees/Huawei promotion for the exciting new Nexus 6P. Everyone who registered will receive an email today with details on how to take up the offer. Unfortunately there are two changes that we will be communicating directly to those affected:

  1. Huawei have advised that the Frost colour is only going to be available via the Google Playstore. We will send a discount code for the 64GB Graphite version to those who registered for the Frost model but if you really want Frost then the Google Playstore is your only option and it won’t offer any discount. If you take a 64GB Graphite on a plan then you will still have the code to use for an outright purchase, or give it to a friend.
  2. There is a delay on the Graphite 128GB model which is now expected in country by Nov 20th. We will send a discount code for the 64GB Graphite version to those who registered for the 128GB version so they can purchase this model if they prefer. And we will send them another discount code for the 128GB model when it is available. If you take a 64GB Graphite on a plan then you will still have the code to use for an outright purchase, or give it to a friend.

We apologise for these changes and we hope that the options we are giving will work for those people affected.

Regards,
2degrees

First thing first..... really disappointed that you announcing at the last moment that Frost colour is not available. If you could have updated us earlier, I could have placed the order with Google Store as soon as they opened the order page for NZ. Really disappointed.... it was an utter waste of time. 2degrees could have communicated with Huawei in a better way. However, I thank Geekzone to try their part to present this offer.

Secondly, the order page does not work. The 'Add to cart' button does not do anything. It returns a blank page. Cannot even order graphite version.

Thanks 2d, can you just confirm that we have until the end of November to actually place our order - this isn't clear from the email, but was something MF alluded to in one of his posts.

Google is still shipping the Frost on the same date so if you want it, you can get it from them for full price. As for a waste of time, all you did was send a PM...

I got my email and rang the 0800 000 202.

I 'd say their sales team heard about this deal shortly after i rang them as they could not confirm the geekzone deal of $33/mth on a monthly plan.

I 'd say they will be totally up to speed tomorrow. :)

Well we could have ordered the Frost 6p from Google last night when it became available. I don't know how much stock Google will have, but it's possible the later order will delay fulfillment and the phone will now take longer than otherwise so it is a valid complaint IMO.

It also seems like the whole 2degrees site was briefly down? Related?

So far i've had plenty of Geekzone forum notifications but none from 2D cry

man, talk about an anxious wait in the office! as one of the affected Graphite orderers, I'm actually totally fine with "downgrading" from 128 to 64gb haha.

Some people need to chill out about the shortages, its a terrible reflection on your first world status wink

As I said, I'm not super worried myself as I would be happy with graphite also, but I can see why some people would be annoyed. I think it's less about first world status and more about the build up  of excitement and then disappointment.

I wouldn't sweat it about not getting the email, as the site isn't working at the moment anyway.
