Ambrose_1: Does anyone know where I can buy a oem ac charger? My uk one is playing up, think I damaged it. Would like to replace it with nz samsung charger. I've seen one online but cable seemed quite short, I like how long the one is that comes with it.

Vodafone/telecom stores likely to have them?

I bought one from TradeMe.  This was the item.

I see he has another I9000.  I also have an I9000 phone and been using that charger since my I9100 is from the UK and I couldn't be bothered with the voltage converter.  I checked all the voltage and whatnot and it all matched up.  I've been using the TradeMe sourced charger since end of June and I charge my phone every night (I live in Chch - can't afford to have a flat battery).  No problems with it at all.

Neets, you should only need a mains adaptor for the UK charger, not a voltage convertor. It should be a wide range input ie 90V to 240 or thereabouts.

+1. I'm using a uk charger/adaptor with mine (as supplied).

Edit:
Voltage is 100-240 with a 5V/0.7A output.

Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone else is running CriskeloROM Gingerbread v22 and has experienced the sim icon showing up on the status bar and in the notifications with just a blank txt box with the sim icon after making a call.

Is there anyway to fix this so it doesn't keep showing up after making a call? It doesn't affect the performance of my phone in anyway but it just gets annoying seeing it there.

I'm on criskelo v23 which is based on 22 with some additions, I have not noticed anything like you described but do remember them mentioning some sim related issues in the install instructions for v23. I think it recommended a wipe of cache etc. if you post on XDA in the criskelo thread I'm sure they will help.

Personally if I ever have trouble with a rom I just wipe and reinstall and it has worked every time.

Oh ok. How you finding v23? I was reading up about that on XDA and saw that a lot of people were having trouble with it.

I did put a post on there but haven't had a reply to it. Will try reflashing the rom and see if it does it again.

Its not really a full rom and to me should have been version 22.5 or something as it is a small download and just adds new lock screens and some new settings.

I follow criskelo on facebook so I know when the new versions come out and what features they have.

Yep, that's the word I was looking for.  It's the adaptor I couldn't be bothered with.  Sorry, called adaptor converter.

Just seeing who was awake ;-)

Just thinking of trying that myself.

I briefly ran nightly #69. My only problem is the camera, but everything else seemed to run very well.

I found CM7 to be unstable and lots of things don't quite work "right". I'd give it a while, especially given how good some of the more recent KIx firmwares are.

Also, their decision to mount the micro-sdcard as /mnt/emmc instead of /sdcard/external_sd/ is a major nuisance. It can be worked around via shell scripting, but it might mean reconfiguration of a number of applications.

i have switched so many times back and forth between stock 2.3.3 and cognition 1.42 and 1.50 ... just to try things out. i found stock to be supremely laggy and inferior touch screen and hopeless battery.

the swype seems to be better on 1.42 but i flashed KH3 modem on top of it to make the most out of my VFAU sourced device. one downside with 2.3.4 is i can't get samsung dive to work.

now hopefully someone will benefit from the above ...

I HAVE ONE question:

on cognition 1.42m why does the signal bar (both 3g and wifi) sometimes goes green and sometimes stays white. what does that mean???

one other complaint: wifi hotspot is hopeless with any rom i have tried
