Ahh, so that patch is probably US-specific. Seems Germany has not got it yet even tho they were told it would be today, found this from an Acer person on their Facebook, obviously a google translation :-)

"@ Markus: We clarify a small degree of consultation, answer will come tomorrow :-)"

The plot thickens!

Yes I have tried two modems and find that wifi drops easily on weak signal that my phone holds on t with no problem. Hope that gets fixed.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, the wifi signal issue is not a problem when close to an access point - 3 or 4 bars and everything runs perfectly. It's when it gets to 1 or 2 bars that I keep getting disconnected. Looking at setting up a second Wireless AP as a repeater to help with that, but fingers crossed 3.1 will make that unnecessary.

Re Acer Germany - I saw another translation as given by user sgioskos on XDA.

From Acer Germany Facebook Page;

"Acer Deutschland ‎@all: Der Update Cycle beginnt heute. Je nach Seriennummer kann es ein bisschen dauern, bis Euer Ger?t dran ist (um Server-?berlastungen zu vermeiden). Herzlich, Euer Acer Team"

Rough translation, its begins tonight in Germany?

Google translation; The update cycle begins today. Depending on the serial number it may take a while to your device's turn (to avoid server overload)

Me too - update installing right now.

Reading the XDA post on 3.1, I still can't get over how impatient some people can be. Phew! You'd think it was the end of the world without the update.

Mine is updating now too...

I was getting a bit annoyed at the update not arriving - not because I wasn't willing to wait another day or two, but because there wasn't any NZ specific information. So I was in that annoying situation of "is it just late updating or have we in NZ been somehow screwed over with this and I'm going to have to hack it on myself".

I'm hoping this update addresses a few minor wi-fi / power related issues I've had. I've found that it goes through a sleep / wake cycle a few times before finally staying asleep. I think it's wi-fi waking it back up.

I updated mine this morning, and I now have it connecting to an Exchange server successfully.

One thing I'm a bit disappointed about is the Movie Studio. It only appears to be able to edit videos recorded on the tablet, and not videos that I recorded using my HTC Desire. There is obviously still some codecs missing from Honeycomb that were available in Froyo.

Hopefully 3.1 will iron out the plethora of bugs that were in 3.0

I just tweeted something along those lines. Wonder what the best way to manage a keyboard and mouse would be? USB hub or mini keyboard/mouse BT (or RF) combo

I'm impressed Acer got an update out that quickly.  That's pretty quick with most vendors in the past.

If your Iconia has updated, can you say where you got yorus from?

Mine was from Mobicity.
Would the fact that it is rooted affect it's ability to update? Should I un-root and try again?
