lokhor: I'm unsure if the i9000t is supported, check the voodoo website or message @supercurio on twitter. I imagine it would be as it should be pretty similar just with a different radio.
I'm going to try flashing the Doc_Kalpik Rom V9 very soon. Hoping to improve my battery life so it actually lasts the entire day instead of running out after work.

How did you get on lokhor? My phone is charging at the moment so that I can flash the latest rom. I'm going to go JM8 (2.1) first and then straight up to the latest BUJP8.
lokhor: Flashed v9 BUJP8 successfully and reinstalled apps using titanium. I miss extended power menu and aosp lock screen though.

So why are you going back to JM8 first Neets?
That's the quandry I'm facing to be honest, I've only just got back to the way my phone was on JH1 in terms of apps/general setup - hence I'm reluctant to faff around with things again - I've even re-enabled the ULK lag fix (God, it's so much better!).
Will watch your progress with great interest!

lokhor: Not fussed about csc. Can you link to the extended power menu you saw?
Many of those who comment on the thread say they always flash back to stock 2.1. Means they've coming from a completely clean base.
Others and have said that often when you flash many roms some things can get left behind. Sounds to me like the phone isn't necessarily clean. I figure it can't hurt to go back to 2.1 when it's only momentarily ;-)
lokhor, have you flashed a new (your original) CSC? I'm tempted to flash the Optus one just to get that lined up too. When I check in SGS Toolbox it shows a mismatch between what's in the backup file to what the current nv_data.bin says.

I think that's where I'm misunderstanding this process; If you're replacing the ROM, which also replaces the modem (at least it did when I upgraded to JPO?), and you're wiping the cache/dalvik cache, and potentially doing a factory reset/restore from CWM doesn't that really just leave the apps/user data?
Yeah, in theory if you take those steps you'd think everything would be good to go, but with so many people suggesting that might not be the case, and I guess only a little bit of extra effort and time, flashing to 2.1 isn't too big a deal. Besides, I wont be setting up the phone in 2.1, I'll go straight to the Doc rom and then be able to use my Titanium backup to restore all my stuff.

Sounds like a good plan to me - so are you going to flash the k9 kernel as per Kalpik's post, or is this not necessary as you're going to 2.1 first, then flashing BUJP8 which has the fixed kernel?
nofam: Yes it's rather strange how slow Titanium is compared to a CWM backup; I'd hate to think how long it takes for people with 300+ apps!!! :-)
