As above. HSDPA (H or H+) is a step over 3G only, kind of intermediary between 3G and 4G.

Shows my ignorance, the way people talk about it, i had always thought 3G was the fastest, now superseded by 4G. Learn something new everyday so they say ;)

Taking my phone in under warranty, I've restored stock rom, stock recovery and relocked the bootloader. Do you think I'll need to go back to S-ON before I take it in?

While you are S-off, make sure you locked the bootloader instead of relocked. I haven't looked at the s-off process but it was considered very risky to s-on again. This may have changed.

Yeah returning to s-on still looked a bit concerning so I probably won't do it. And bootloader is saying locked and not relocked so I assumed that's ok?

More information and certification status here.

Europe started receiving the 4.4.2 update a couple of days ago. Interestingly Telstra have not listed it on their device updates page which means testing hasn't even begun for them. They've been rolling out their updates the same days as the Optus/VF/TNZ variant.

Just replaced my silver M7 with a black one. It looks good but I forgot that black shows fingerprints.

Any one know what 2° is like with updates?

If it runs the same x.xx.980.2 software as the TNZ and VFNZ ones then you'll get updates from HTC at the same time as them.

Welllll.....not quite...it would be likely for 2 degrees to have a different CID than TNZ and VFNZ. Which would imply potentially different on-phone apps. But more importantly it would also mean different rollout schedule. Each carrier has a CID or CIDs, and OTA updates of the same build are made available to each CID as the carrier in question passes acceptance testing of that ROM. So even if they have the SAME apps, the different CID will mean different update timing.

That was an *if* about running the same software.

The .980 software is for multiple CID's. It works for VFNZ, VFAU, Optus and TNZ. Depending on the SIM inserted on first boot it will load different carrier apps and preferences.

They have all been receiving the same updates at the same time. So *if* the 2Deg One's have the same software as the other NZ ones then they will receive the updates at the same time.

Exactly my point - and each carrier tests independently and approves release on their own schedule.

They haven't been at exactly the same time. Coincidentally they have mostly been close to each other.

Given that each carrier tests independently, as I said, there is no guarantee that they will release an OTA at the same time. For example, I understand that VFNZ don't test onshore, they have a large, centralised testing lab in Malaysia (?). This means they can test new releases faster than the likes of Telecom, and presumably 2 Degrees also, who have on-shore testing facilities.

Yup, thats the same as the VFNZ/TNZ one
