How are your phones? Mine was picked up late Friday so now I have to wait until Monday to get it. Not very happy with Vodafone right now which is unusual for me.

has anyone used their galaxy buds+ yet? I'm on the fence as to whether to keep them or sell them. A youtuber (iphonedo iirc) said that the buds+ don't support mono auto switching like last years buds do. But then someone on Reddit asked this question and were told that yes they do. I often use only one bud so this feature is important. Can anyone please confirm, thanks.

So now I've had the phone a few days I'm noticing a few issues.

I've had several instances where it has failed to switch from wifi to 4g resulting in "No internet connection". Seems to occur after leaving WiFi and then trying to pick up a 4g signal. SOmetimes toggling flight mode results in connection but other times a restart is needed.

I've noticed a yellowish tint to the screen, Yes theres a white balance adjustment but out the box it was kinda yellowish.

Having GPS issues, I play the gps game Ingress and a couple of times I've got "Invalid Location" status. This has required a restart to resolve.

The fingerprint sensor is kinda hit and miss.

The location of the "power" button (I remapped to be a power button) underneath the volume buttons is awkward and  more than once I've hit the wrong button.

THe buds are great. Not audiophile quality but very decent sound. The trick is using the largest silicone ear things to get the best seal. ANd I changed to the larger ear wing things too.

Is it me or are the reviews of the much hyped S20 Ultra painting a fairly average conclusion at the moment? I was intending to pre-order one but held off wanting to see the reviews first considering the price.

A comment in one of the reviews really stood out - many of the features in the Ultra can be found in mid-tier smartphones. Take a look at Oppo Find X2 Pro - it is not only cheaper but it comes with 90% of the bells and whistles.

I am hoping the new improved software improves the camera as that's is one of the reasons most people purchase the Ultra for.

So far I'm very underwhelmed with the S20 ultra.
I remember the transfer from my s7 to S9+ being so much smoother. This time there seemed to be a lot of apps that just completely disappeared from my app library.

It has been very sluggish and slow despite all that RAM and 120htz refresh rate.

As for the camera - welp.
I thought I'd test it out today. Single take kept freezing, often the responsiveness of the camera was lacking. I'd try and take a photo and it wouldn't always capture. I also had several times where the camera would crash altogether.

It's left me feeling a feeling that in a million years I would never thought I would feel - I should've waited until September when the new iPhone released.

Well I'm glad it's not just me. Transferring from my S9 plus, it indicated it would bring all the apps across and it said it was bringing across 115, but then there were very few apps by the time it had finished. Most of my icons then disappeared from my home screen.  So I had to manually install most of the apps and fix a lot of my system settings. Comparing that to when I reset my S9 plus at the beginning of this year when the vast majority of things were kept, things have got worse!  So sounds like there is some sort of an issue there...

It's good to finally have a phone that supports that.
I'm currently using a S7 with a external sim adapter

So whats the overall verdict guys: stud or dud?

The missus Nexus 5x finally kicked the bucket, so I'm contemplating something out of the s20 range. And by that, I mean I will try and give her my note 9 so I can get a new phone haha

I got the ultra upgrading from the note 10. It's definitely a beast of a phone but if I am going to recommend to anyone I will say get the s20 or s20+ because the ultra is way more expensive for no reason. The camera setup is identical except fro the 100x zoom vs 30x. It's definitely not worth the money over the s20 plus. Otherwise it's an exceptional phone. I can definitely tell the difference in speed and fluidity and especially the 120hz display, even coming from the Note 10 plus.
