I had to leave work early today away for the weekend and mine turned up an hour later. Sunday night here I come!

Dunedincom, if they called you, it will be there Monday. Keep tracking it on FEDEX prob show tomorrow morning after 7am.

Afraid Ryan's latest post is right, FedEx has reposted the 'delay in Poyle' notice again so who knows - I tend to think that's where it's sitting because it doesn't say in transit any more though if this is they case, they've known this for at least 12 hours before bothering to update the tracking system - not very cutting edge.  So at worst the iphone 5G may be announced before planes fly again or I may be lucky mid to late next week, I'm afraid boys and girls Monday is looking less and less likely though I will check it after 7 am tomorrow Kiwi as you suggested and see....

Cheers Kiwi, haven't stopped smiling - I'm surprrised at how involved we've got in our respective waiting games but it's been entertaining and the ride's not over yet.  Looking forward to a 'support' thread once we've all got our Desires.

Yeah its funny how we can all buggerise around making a decision to buy something, but once that decision is made, we want it NOW!

I do think though if FEDEX called you about GST you will still be ok for Monday. They are a good company( although this particular episode of tracking has been the worst I have seen from them) , we do about $70k a year with them and if they were not I would drop them like a celibate girlfriend.

Cheers for the advice regarding picking up the parcel in person, Tony :) Left work early and went to pick it up haha :)

Haha, nice analogy! Smile  Appreciate your experience so feeling more positive about Monday.  I'll let you know if the tracking updates tomorrow.

Hey Nathan, look forward to a user group on apps etc. What do you reckon?

DC, fingers crossed!!

BTW everyone in here should face the NZtechFreak Mecca direction and say thanks to Murray for starting this whole exercise.

No thanks needed! Nice to see quite a few of us here to support each other through the teething problems, the "I need an app that does this", "how do I find the settings for that?" phase :)

Had my first tonight, took it off WiFi and couldn't connect to Vodafone internet! Had to enter the APN name manually (www.vodafone.net.nz), works like it should now! First high end smartphone I've ever owned that couldn't just detect them automatically (and several of the previous ones have been HTCs too, no Android handsets though).

I will post up a review thread shortly with my thoughts to date and as I get deeper into the phone and OS.

Oh, GSMarena review is up, nice little read to whet your appetite if you're still waiting.

I was surprised to see close to best in class audio quality performance from an HTC handset, but stoked nevertheless!!!!

Yikes! They charged the c/c around 3am NZST, and said "It has gone through - shall have the order dispatched"

Wow! That was quick! Wonder how long before I get the tracking number...
