Anyone having issues with dropped calls? I thought it was the fact that i cut my sim down but just got it replaced and i am dropping all the time, it looks like its actually kicking me off the network... Got it from ware house stationary. very odd

So I ended up cancelling my bond and bond order, and getting one from warehouse stationery as well. Everything is such a step up from my N900 (bless its soul). Very happy with this phone.

However there is one disappointment. It's a massive pain to connect to it via USB from a Linux computer. It's MTP protocol is not well supported in Linux, and despite using the mptfs tool, transfer speed is around 300kb/s, and files frequently don't make it across. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Also, haven't tried making calls yet (what is phone?)

Interestingly, after doing this, when I connect the phone via MTP, the music folder is empty as far as the computer is concern. I don't know what MTP is doing.

As I understand it, the 'media library' on the phone is what MTP presents over USB. Usually media process scans the phone for files at boot, so it sometimes wont see new stuff until it refreshs. You could try using a transfer program that refreshes mediastorage after transfer (such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lutey.FTPServer which is what works for me) and see if that helps.

Fire up a VPN (e.g. tunnel bear)
Visit this: https://play.google.com/music/
Download the PC client
Disable the VPN (not needed to upload music)
Enjoy music on your phone (VPN also not needed).

Basically you only need to use a VPN (to get a USA IP) to get to the initial page and accept the agreement and download the software. After that it works perfectly.
