This thread is going a bit off topic but I'm wading in with support for Timmay. The cables (combined with the charger) do make a difference in charging capability and speed.

The S4 cable (with original charger) can do 1900 mA, but if I use one of my other random cables, it will vary from 500 -> 1200 (with my S4 - not a Moto G!). I think there's some physical differences to this cable than normal ones to enable this. Found this wee thread on XDA on S4 charging - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274321

The main time this will make a difference is (IMO) when you're using GPS and even though you're plugged in to the 12V socket, your battery will drain.... Unless on a good quality charger + lead combo.

Interesting - I'll have a shot with the stock charger/cable on the S4 some time. I'll also do the tests on the Moto G when it's low enough and my fiance lets me.

Looking back it does appear we're splitting hairs here.

Has anyone ordered though amazon.com/Youshop and recieved their moto G? How long did it take?
Amazon.com seems to have the best price right now for the 16GB  Global model but correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks

Tim

They dont list Model numbers so you dont  know if you are getting the Dual sim version

Note:  the single sim version is a lot cheaper so hard to compare prices.

I fail to see the use case for dual sim beyond a BYOD workplace and a lady on the sly. :)

I have a Music friend that goes around every ware and has problem with reception in some places, so having the option to use another network would be great.

I've updated my charging spreadsheet, linked from the last page. I repeated my tests with the Moto G. The stock cable with a the Belkin charge did 33% per hour (ie 3 hours to charge), the monoprice cable charged did 51% per hour (ie 2 hours to charge). I still need to repeat the tests in the opposite order, but I'm convinced that a good cable does make a difference.

I wonder if the cable makes any difference on a lower powered charger that only outputs 1A or so

I'm going to guess yes, but honestly I'm not interested enough to try it. I don't think I have much in the way of small chargers.

Interestingly though the original S4 charger with what I thought was the original S4 cable charges at a very low rate - 460mah from memory. The best cable and charger is 1200mah. I may have misplaced the S4 cable.

My JBhiFi ordered one arrived today with it's free wallet. Interesting that it also comes with a USB plug pack as well..

Easy to setup just like the N4 but my attempts to get a Telecom as primary SIM and Skinny as the secondary SIM have not worked. One works or the other but not both. Will get my personal Telecom mini SIM converted to a micro SIM at lunch time and see if that works or as I suspect the second SIM will only work on standby in GSM (2G) mode which means it has to be a 2D or Vodafone one..

Will let you know..

Regards,
