I do understand that, but end of the day I shouldn't have to troubleshoot a faulty product under warranty.

It's a 2 grand phone that doesn't phone.

It's faulty. I want it replaced not "assessed" and sent back 3 weeks later with "no fault found".

And if the replacement does the same I'll be wanting a refund.

How do you know the handset is even faulty? It might be 100% fine and could even be a network config issue

Edit:

Logs would need to be pulled from the handset and also checks done on the carriers side on the paging messages to make sure the handset is not dropping off the network or a routing message is not going amiss you can't just say it's a handset fault straight off the bat

I've had similar  issues since day one with missing calls and txt messages. It's not carrier or sim specific it's a handset issue and samsung forums have a thread about this issue https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S20/S20-Ultra-not-receiving-calls/td-p/1190155

That's good to know. Hardly been out since the lockdown but prior to that I was missing calls, even when the phone was on. Had moved from spark to 2° so was blaming 2°. Looks like it might be the phone though. Also got an S20 Ultra.

And there's a third person with the same issue. As well as all the extra ones in the sammy forums with exactly they same issue.

Given there are multiple people with multiple carriers it's kinda sounding like it's a handset issue.

Linux:

@IvanPiacun Can you disable 5G under network settings? So handset can only see 3G & 4G network?

Thanks @Linux I'll try that for a few days.

@Linux was worth a try but did not help.

Guys could you please try disabling Voice over LTE. Youll find it in Settings-Connections-Mobile Networks.

Not an ideal fix but seems to (so far) have fixed the issue of calls and txt not arriving for me.

Just a thought is the problem with missed calls only happening when VOLTE is on and you are connected to a Wi-Fi 6 router?

It could be due to Wil-Fi 6.

I had this same issue with my iPhone 11 Pro Max before switching to a OnePlus 8 Pro (which has had it's own useless network issues)....interesting different OEMs have the same problem.

@Linux I am trying VOLTE off, but I have noticed previously the problem appears to only occur when I have WiFi turned on, and I have a new Wi-Fi 6 router and I was wondering if others are in the same position. I have an RT AX3000 which was bundled with my phone from PB Tech.

Have you got WiFi Calling disabled? If not i would try that if you think its a fault with WiFi. I very much doubt its anything specific to 802.11ax (wifi 6) standard.

Linux: @IvanPiacun Which carrier are you on?

@Linux I'm on Spark New Zealand and Samsung says it happens more often on Spark. They suggested I try it with a Wi-Fi Hotspot but I am still testing with VOLTE off.

@lxsw20 we don't have Wi-Fi calling on Spark New Zealand. It doesn't appear to happen when I have Wi-Fi disabled. The reason why I think it may have something to do with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11AX) is that it has power management on clients.

@KopKiwi who was the carrier for the iPhone 11 Pro Max please. Was it Spark New Zealand?

@IvanPiacun SparkNZ do not have Wi-Fi calling so you can rule that out
